Karen Whiddon spun fanciful tales for her younger brothers as early as the age of eleven. Growing up in the Catskill Mountains of New York, then the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, she found enough magic in the rugged peaks to keep her imagination fueled for years.
Now making her home in North Texas, she shares her life with her hero-like husband and three doting dogs. She writes paranormal tales for Harlequin Nocturne including the popular Pack series and romantic suspense stories for Harlequin Romantic Suspense.
She's also written Fae novels for Lovespell and a long time ago, she wrote five Precious Gem Romances for Kensington publishing. These she now owns again and has put them up for sale on Amazon.com among other places
Frankly, I was a bit disappointed in this book. While I enjoyed the characters and some of the set up, I questioned whether anyone would let someone back into her life who had dumped her at the alter--especially since he gave her no real explanation for it. I felt the first half of the book was slow and the second half contrived.
Karen Whiddon is a competent writer and her visual descriptions are great, but I think she tried to put too much action and not enough cause and effect into this book.
I so wanted to give this book a 5 but in the end a few things prevented me from doing so. First I loved the story although I agree with another reviewer she took him back way to easily. And that the town seemed to think she should made me shake my head a bit. The second was the sudden ending. I felt like I had slammed into a glass window I didn't know what there. Call me a sucker I wanted more.
I really enjoyed Ms Whiddon's writing and her descriptions. Though the switching back and forth in the same chapter between characters was jarring. I can't even call it head hopping as they weren't even in the same room. But once I figured out what she was doing I was more able to follow along.

Romantic Suspense that did not live up to its potential. Not very well written with lots of editing problems and a very rushed ending that was less than romantic.
One thing Jake Durham knew when he returned to Texas was that he could say for sure to Jenny Render that I Want You Back. Two years prior he had left the day before their wedding when the DEA called him into an undercover assignment and he had to go because it was his job and he couldn't tell Jenny or he would put her in danger.
He still wants her. She is abducted, lied to and he will do everything in his power to rescue her. Want You Back is a second chance book full of hurt feelings, danger and romance.
spoilers. A guy undercover for the DEA leaves on an assignment the night before his wedding to the love of his Life. Unfortunately he can't keep his pants zipped even though he loves the h soooo much and she is kidnapped by the woman he slept with and promised to marry while he was on assignment and I hated the whole story. He was not a worthy hero and I don't care how much tequila he drank. If He loved the h he should have just said no. He was a pig.
This is a story of second chance love. Jenny was left at the altar on her wedding day by Jake. Now two years later she has moved on and has a new love intrest. He maybe not the be all in the love stakes but she can depend on him. Jake disappeared right before their wedding only to show up now. He wants her back. But will his secrets keep them apart? I ejoyed this story line by Karen Whiddon. Have read several other of her works and enjoyed them also. Looking for more late
128pgs, she's engaged, but he's not the love of her life. the love of her life left her at the altar 2 yrs ago. There is a good reason, but he can't tell her why, or where he has been for 2 yrs. He is back and wants her in his life, he hasn't given up on marrying the only woman he has ever loved.
Not bad, just seemed kind of obvious and pedestrian and I felt no need to keep reading. My ebook had a number of formatting errors but the author claims those have now been fixed.
