Haunted by her shameful past, Hannah Cutler struggles to accept the love of Devlin McKay. Brides of Culdee Creek book 2.
Even though her name means "grace", Hannah Cutler struggles to accept true mercy and love—especially from Devlin MacKay, the only man who remembers her past as well as she does.
This sequel to Daughter of Joy weaves an honest, emotive tale of one woman's struggle to accept redeeming love. Hannah Cutler, a former prostitute, is trying to begin her life anew. But she struggles with the notion of being loved, even by the Lord of love whom she recently accepted as her Savior.
Devlin MacKay adds to Hannah's feelings of shame by unjustly blaming her for his own guilty past. But as Hannah becomes a Woman of Grace, Devlin is forced to confront his feelings for her and toward the God who has transformed her life.

“Woman Of Grace” is a very interesting story about grace. Giving it as well as accepting it.
It is hard to extend grace to someone, especially when we feel they don’t deserve it. It’s sometimes harder to accept grace from others — including God — when we know we don’t deserve it. “But that’s the mystery of grace. No matter how good we are, we’re still never worthy of it.” And, yet, it’s still always available to us. Isn’t God amazing?!
A great example of grace in this story is that which Ella extended to Devlin and Hannah. Ella didn’t hate or reject — though, by most standards, she had every reason to. In fact, when she finally did address the issue (a really big issue!), it was to forgive. To offer grace and peace to replace the guilt and turmoil.
There were others in the book, of course, who also struggled with giving and/or receiving grace. But this one really stood out to me. I think it’s because Ella was able to forgive something that so many people wouldn’t forgive. It was a “huge issue”, but — with God’s help (and that’s the only way we can truly forgive) — she was able to extend to others the grace which she had first received from her Saviour. Her main concern was that those she cared about would never accept that grace from God.
hannah and devlin....where do i start? first he hates her cause he slept with her. and he slept with her(without a gun to his head) on several occasions at a brothel. you know why? because she's a prostitue, its what she does!.....but guess what? devlin is a married man. not only is he a married man. HE IS A MARRIED MAN WITH KIDS!!! and his wife is absolutely amazing. so why would he cheat on her with Hannah? you may ask....well, cause those days people didnt know that withdrawal was a method of contraception and another baby would kill ella(devlin's wife). but is that a good enough reason to cheat on your wonderful deserves nothing but love wife?? NO!!! anyway due to his cheating,(which ella forgives by the way!) she ends up dying. and he ends up,....well.....wait for it.....with Hannah!!!
i would never ever in a million years think of such a storyline. it was annoying yet sweet and unique....well done Kathleen. you make even the most unthinkable thing in christianity look cool.
this book really grinded my gears i hated how the one person besides abby had to die, i hated how because of devlin she had to suffer.
devlin was a swlfish self centred swine who didnt deserve to breathe. i hated how he got happiness but ella didnt, i also didnt really like hannah either, i felt sorry for poor evan.
im sorry to the author the first one in this series is worth a read but the second one isnt really in my opinon, i stopped reading i was that frustrated

I liked that the main characters were incredibly flawed. It makes the characters relatable and at the same time evokes compassion. I thought that the romance was effective because the lovers needed each other to survive--Hannah, because her life was at stake and Devlin, because his wife died and he needed help raising his children. On a superficial level there was a good build up of romantic tension; however the characters were too picture-perfect in the end. It was the same as reading "and they lived happily ever after." It's hard to read without rolling your eyes.
Once again, she didn’t disappoint. I love this book, it’s purpose, it’s theme, its characters, and what it has taught me. This was beautifully written and that’s pretty impressive since the characters had such tragic struggles and the worst start possible to a relationship. I hope to eventually have similar levels of grace, patience, and compassion.
So sad, my heart breaks every time reading this book. I love how the author made these characters so real and believable. Like in the middle, Hannah's grief is so real is hurts. Also, the characters aren't too perfec, they are plausible. Could read this story over and over!!
A quick easy read. I got hooked because the setting is my town over a hundred years ago plus I like series books where it follows a family over generations.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Faith can and will help you deal with all the adversities that come into your life no matter generation or era of time . Can't wait to read the next book.
This book is the second in a series but it is a favorite of mine. I have read it at least 3 times. God’s redemptive love and grace is paramount in this story. Highly recommend it!!
This book is nothing but a mixed bag for me. While it was well written and well paced there were still some flaws with some of the characters. First off, Devlin’s comment to Ella about how he did what he saw fit really just bugs me. Yeah he did what he saw fit, fit for himself. Now look where that got him. Next there’s Evan, who had what seemed like some what of an obsession with Hannah, thinking that she basically should marry him because he was the only man that would treat her right. The only other thing I have to complain about is the housekeeper Devlin hires toward the beginning of the book. She accuses Hannah of doing something that in a way she actually did her self. For the most part though this was a good book.
If you’ve read the first book Daughter of Joy and are wondering if you should continue on to Woman of Grace just do it. Cause all though it has its faults Woman of Grace is still a good book that I definitely recommend.
the storyline followed on from Abby's n Conor's story where Abby has helped Hannah escape the bodyguard from Sadie's Bordello who reappears towards the end of the story. Kathleen has really gotten into the mind of how Hannah see's herself and how she has to ignore the judgement of others even those who go to church. I especially like the quote "how women blame the prostitutes for their husbands visiting them instead of putting it at the men's responsibility n choice." God does not want us to hang onto anything of this world or ourselves. Giving it all to God and letting God show his love, grace, mercy, hope, faithfulness towards those who are deemed unlovely.Gets You Thinking.
I really liked the first book so it was a given I would continue the series. But, Devlin was way too much like Connor in book one. I kind of got tired of reading over and over how Devlin had no faith. I don't think Devlin and Hannah had much between them until at least half way through. She cooked, cleaned and took care of his kids. He brooded and blamed her for all his problems. It was pretty obvious early on who Jackson's dad is.
Considering the way he treated Hannah at the beginning of the story versus the end, Ms. Morgan did a nice job of showing how God's grace and forgiveness can change lives. I may read the next in the series to see if Evan's story is different.
Hannah has some trouble accepting her past. Devlin also is struggle with his past. He also has to deal with his wife. Hannah as a secret she must tell Devin about. Hannah comes to help when Devin wife becomes ill after giving birth to their daughter.
This book is somewhat a tear emotions for just about what going to happen. Devlin still need to come to terms with his guilt and he need to step up when he told something. For there several surprises in this book I do not want to give them away.
This story picks up where DAUGHTER OF JOY left off and is the story of the ex-prostitute, Hannah who Abby rescued from the brothel. Hannah and her baby have found a home at Culdee Creek and Hannah has been assisting Devin MacKay's wife. There are a lot of surprises in this story and to tell too much would rob the reader of much of the pleasure if too much is told. Suffice to say it's another powerful read from master storyteller Kathleen Morgan.
Very interesting Christian based book on a prostitute who is trying to change her life and make a new start with her baby. She is staying on a ranch, but one of the ranch hands does not like her because he was one of her customers while being a married man. His wife and Hannah become close friends even though she knows what her husband did. Touching story of forgiveness and acceptance. Second book in the Culdee Creek series
This is the 2nd book I read in this 4 book series. I debated whether to give it 3 or 4 stars. The main male character in this book was just so infuriating at times that you just wanted to shake him. Will continue on with the series, but the men in this series, at least when the main character are so exasperating that I need a good long break before delving into the next book.
This book covered a lot of the issues we all seem to have at one time or another and how faith in God gets us through and gives us peace in spite of them. The plot was very intriguing and it ended well. Very well written. The story took unexpected twists and turns keeping it very exciting.
It was good reading. Some of their struggles at learning to accept God's love were well presented. Their struggle in the acceptance of their developing love is understandable. There is a third book of this series; might be good.
This was a great addition to the series! I was amazed by how the story unfolded. It is such a great example of forgiveness and love. I also enjoyed having the main characters from the previous book play they're part in the story.
Once again a great book for those who love a good love story with christian vaules. Has lots of action and tension. It just sweeps you along in the story. The author as done a great job with this series and I am enjoying the read.
I really liked this one, and I tend to like books like this. It's more-or-less a prarie romance. It involves faith, family, and home as well. The writing is only decent, but the characters are likable.
