Oh bestill my beating heart. This book is FREAKING HOT. I read it in one sitting. You read that right: one sitting. It's 200+ pages but was so hot and so good I couldn't stop reading it. I loved all the characters and couldn't wait to see what happens.

A couple words about the BDSM element...it's actually a very romantic sweet BDSM story, so unless it seriously turns you off, you will like it. There's nothing bad or harsh or humiliating. It's erotic and teasing and sweet.

This is the Carew I loved from Twin Fantasies!

Summer Anderson meets Max Delaney at erotic writer friend's workshop. I loved that she baked chocolates in the shape of penises.

She meets Max and there's an is an immediate spark. It takes Summer from her subdued and lackluster life to realizing her sexual dreams.

There is an interesting twist since Summer returns to her small town life and Max to New York. In her small town, Summer can't decide between two men. Max arrives too complicate the issue to delicious ends...

Summer owns her own chocolate shop and makes chocolates in a small town. She's a bit insecure and she's really shy. She has two best guy friends (who are also best friends with each other) that she has massive crushes on but is too shy to make the first move.

She ends up going with her friend to a sex convention where her friend is selling and signing her new released erotica novel and suggested that Summer make some chocolates that would match the theme of the convention. There she meets Max. And that's when her life changes. Max introduces her to the world of BDSM and how to open herself up more (literally and figuratively) and go after what she wants.

From the start, the sparks between Summer and Max come quickly in the book and the weekend they spend together during the convention lead to a lot of BDSM then she leaves to go back home and though she's happy to finally home and see her two best friends that she's practically in love with, she can't stop thinking about Max. Though out the time that she is home and trying to pursue both of her best friends, she still keeps in contact and a few times, see's Max. I liked the friendship between Summer and her two best friend's prior to her pursuing them. After she did pursue them, I felt the book got a little awkward. The characters didn't have much (or any) of story line, there wasn't a back story to really anyone but Max. And after awhile, it kind of just felt like a porno, in a book. I might as well had started playing that funky tacky porno music while reading this book! It was so awkward that I started skipping the steamy scenes in search of some kind of story plot. But I didn't find one.

So Summer is totally crushing on her two best friends for what, years? Max comes along, she's attracted to Max but still wants her two best friends so she finally gets both best friends who are just cool with dating Summer at the same time (and doing her) but she's still seeing/sleeping with Max and in the end she ends up getting engaged to Max which in my opinion was totally rushed through and not only does she get engaged to the one she cant stop thinking about BUT she also gets to still sleep with all three of them. At the same time. What the hell?!

As much as I don't want to say this... this book was not worth the $10 I spent on it.

I just love this author! When it comes to erotica's, this author knows how to write them. She knows how to perfectly balance the sex, the romance and the plot to where it is a wonderful read without just being sex all the time.

Summer sells chocolates at an adult themed convention show. She is there with her good friend who happens to write steamy books. When her friend Tanya introduces Summer to Max, the sparks fly and the pages burn with romance! Summer finds herself curious about the BDSM lifestyle and Max is wanting to show her the ropes of BDSM. Max has lived the lifestyle as a dominant and knows that Summer would be a perfect sub in this lifestyle. When Summer gives up control to Max for the weekend, she feels like a new woman. When she heads home, she decides to take control of her sex life and go after the two men she has been best friends with and have also been in love with Summer. The whole time though, Summer finds herself missing Max and craving more of him. When Max shows up in the town where she lives, jealousy rears its ugly head from her best friends. They quickly realize that Max is who Summer wants.

I don't want to give away any spoilers, but I love the way the author handled the ending between the characters of the book. Secret Ties is a must read if you are a fan of Opal Carew or a fan of erotica's. I can't wait to read more from this author!

Very nice read for an erotica romance book! and when I say nice, I meant it carried a reasonable-decent plot, and that's not something ER usually cherished. Given that's ER, I don't have to mention how hot and erotic it was, fair warning. Dom, Subs, BDSM, love-triangle, opening and helping Summer to move forward with heart's desires, reality and renewed confrontation. I was surprisingly surprised with this author but I can't say more about her other books bc my library only have this one.

I think friends of mine who liked Rough Riders will enjoy this hot read. Friends who know me, let's put it this way, it distracted me for 6.5 miles, where as RR distracted 7+ miles, lol.

Wish this had just been the story of Max and Summner! Throwing the other two men into the story was a bit of a 'miss' for me. Not as good as Twin Fantasies imo. Twin Fantasies was the first book I read by this author. Really liked it and bought several more, but TF remains the only keeper.

I enjoyed this book! I wasn't expecting there to be a happy ending, but there was, and those are the books I enjoy most.

I will say that this subject was handled quite well, and given the whole taboo nature (depends on who you ask, lol), it wasn't as "scary" as some people make it out to be. We could definitely use more books like this in the mainstream!

As for the ending, again, a happy one, but also convenient. I'd say Summer was rather lucky to have things work out the way they did.

Summer, a shy candy shop owner, meets Max, a BDSM master, and her world will never be the same!

Max helps Summer find herself and go for a relationship with 2 male friends, but he also falls in love with her, even after having sworn off love after the death of his wife 4 years earlier.

The sex is hot but I also liked the story. And I didn’t see the ending coming.

What a yawner this book was! Absolutely the most cack-handed characterizations I've read in years, and a plot that was not really a plot, just a vehicle to get our girl from one sexcapade to the next. And so unrealistic! I mean, here's our girl: makes her living making & selling chocolates to tourists. Lets herself be persuaded to make chocolate penises & bring them to a BDSM convention to sell. But is totally embarrassed by having penises to sell. A small town girl (think Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm here) & happy to be so, but immediately follows Max's dom commands even though she has just met him. And falls immediately into lust with him, allowing him to do anything to her he wants. Give me a bleepin' break!

Summer Anderson and best friend Tanya set up a booth at adult entertainment trade show. Summer was there to sell specialty chocolates designed in shapes of penises and Tanya was there to sell her latest book. Summer felt a little out of her element. She'd never been exposed to explicit sexuality on display. Summer met Max at the trade show, he happened to be a friend of Tanya's.

Max Delaney had lived the lifestyle as a dominant after the loss of his wife. He didn't get seriously involved with any of the subs and had no trouble letting them go. Summer turned out to be different. When she became his sub everything changed.

Summer had desired her two best friends Kyle and Shane but settled for friendship. Her relationship with Max brought finally out her suppressed sexual passion. She seduced them both into a ménage relationship. Things get interesting when Max discovers he loves summer.

Opal Carew never fails to thrill. Although I enjoyed the book I felt the characters could have been more defined, I didn't feel much of a connection with them.

I was so disappointed in this book that I couldn't finish it. I kept on reading chapter after chapter, page after page and I kept on hoping that it would improve.....but it never did. This book had some great reviews and I've read a few books by Opal Carew, but this book was one of the worst ones I've read in a while. This book had no plot and minimal story that seemed to be centered around the author writing words like "cock, cockhead, tits, pussy and words of that ilk with the hope that a plot wasn't necessary. I guess I have more discernable taste when it comes to books.

I feel like I've just wasted hours of my life, that I'm never going to get back, reading a book that was such a waste of space that I don't even feel right donating it. Now there might be some people out there with a different opinion of this book and I hope for Opal Carew that I'm wrong, but this is one book I would never recommend to others and would rather use it as kindle for the fire then let another person read it.

I knew what was going to happen when I had barely started the book. Most erotica is like that, but the scenes in this book were HOT. She has menage a trois, and a menage a quatro. I liked the fact that she was a chocolatier, and for a trade show, she made chocolates into penis, with different colors, and a flesh colored one, she was quite proud of. She also puts herself into a stock, and waits for her Dom to come in and take her. He also puts a spin on the scene, by pretending that there are more men than himself with him. Opal writes scorching hot sex scenes, and all around good read (HA HA !) books. Recommend this book and all of Opal Carew books for anyone who loves BDSM, multiple partners, and lots of explicit sex scenes.

This author really knows how to write books. This book is the third I've read of hers and I wasn't disappointed. She had me hooked from beginning to end.

Max and Summer were a great match from the start. He knew exactly what she needed to get her out of her shell and pursue her heart's desire.

I found myself intrigued and mesmerized by the male character Max, Shane and Kyle. They are every girls dream guy. And she gets all of them. I'm not sure whether to high five Summer or smack her. Lol!

She is a great girl and the growing relationship she has with all three men was amazing to behold.

Not too bad, not too good either. As always there's graphically described sex and the obligatory Opal Carew threesome sandwhich. The characters have a bit of their own personalities showing but more of the collective personalities of romantica. Even the BDSM is tell not show and it's just toying around the edges, presumably to make the readers feel that it's really very naughty without scaring anyone off.

I enjoyed it but preferred Blush. Give it a go if anything considered deviant tantalises you, otherwise I suggest you try the Maya Banks Sweet series.

This story had promise but the ending was too easy and too pat. In the beginning the main character has two men in love with her but she is unable to respond to their affection for a variety of reasons. Enter a Dom who not only shows her how to respond to both men who love her, but falls in love with her himself. The end of the book doesn't really resolve these issues as much as it sweeps them under the rug. A very unsatisfying ending with a conflict that was developed, but left the reader hanging.

Secret Ties by Opal Carew is a hot, sexy and exciting book. Summer meets Max who is a master in bondage and submission at an event they are attending. Summer is in love with her two best friends Kyle and Shane but has never done anything about it. Max and Summer just click so he teaches her the ropes of BDSM so she can move forward with Shane and Kyle. I love that Opal added in Shane and Kyle, with Max and Summer it makes it an awesome read. This is another great book that I recommend you read.

It's too bad that this one was so unexceptional because Opal Carew usually puts out better stories than this. The relationship between Max and Summer was okay--the Dom stuff can be quite stimulating, and there was lots of it--but her wanna-be relationship with Kyle and Shane was weak at best. And to top it off, the Dom/sub role reversals towards the ending were not only unconvincing--it all sounded staged--but rather ridiculous. I give it a lame 3 stars.

A sexy book, but not much substance - same as the other books I've been reading, sadly.
The romance wasn't entirely believable, in that I wasn't convinced these characters would get together.
The main hero and heroine I do see them staying together.
But the heroine's ridiculous "wide eyed innocence" is too much in the beginning. Especially since she jumps right into a D/s relationship.

A very hot read though, so if that's what you're looking for, worth checking out.

Chocolatier Summer Anderson lusts after two male friends but never acts on her desires until she meets a Dom named Max Delaney at an adult entertainment trade show. She is exposed to the world of D/s and instructed in the joys of claiming the opportunities offered to her, but how will she cope with her desires for the new man in her life as well as the two left behind? A sizzling tale!

My, my pass me a cold drink and a fan for this toe curling, panty wetting erotic love story about stretching comfort levels and exploding sexual bounderies. Sexy role playing spice up an already steaming novel and I loved every page. It's so nice to have a great story peppered with creative and sexy scenes and well-developed characters. This one's a keeper for sure.

really? ugh. I was so hopeful with these rave reviews. if you have taste for erotica with a good storyline and substance, this book isn't for you. if felt like a short story rushed with little character development from spotting the tall dark and handsome man- to the female on her knees.
