Recounts the history of roller coasters, and describes classic examples, from wooden rides to steel devices to enormous machines with drops of more than two or three hundred feet, and speculates about future developments.
So much fun! As expected, the book is outdated, but offers a great overview of the history of coasters and a look at the modern coasters of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Definitely worth adding to you collection.
This was perhaps one of the most informative books about roller coasters amusement parks, and a variety of individual roller coaster construction companies. I recommend this book to9 anyone interested in roller coasters even remotely. It provides great overviews and descriptions as well as technical details in any easy to understand format and layout.
