Rancher Connor Hawkins despises every drop of demon blood that courses through his veins. He would give just about anything to become human. The only way he can make that happen is to participate in a darkly sensual ritual under a rare full Halloween moon with a woman who loves him unconditionally. He's got the full moon, if only he can risk his heart and tell Cassandra Claire what he really is.
Cassie Claire thinks she already knows the real Connor, and she's been in love with him since she was eighteen years old. They've shared a unique friendship from the day her father died and Connor brought her home to live with his family. But she's twenty-three now, and on this Halloween night she's determined to make the stoic, stubborn Connor open his eyes and finally see her for the strong, capable young woman she's become.
But it's hard to trust when you never have, and Connor has precious little time before the full Halloween moon wanes, not to be seen again for many, many years. He has to tell her, but if he does, will she love him enough to do what must be done?
They'll both find out, one passionate night under a Demon Moon.

I am an air force brat and spent most of my growing up years living overseas in Italy and England, as well as Florida, Georgia, Ohio, and Virginia while we were stateside. I now live in Florida once again with my big, wonderfully pushy family and my three-legged cat, Harry. I have been reading romance novels since I was twelve years old, and twenty years later I still adore them. Currently, I have an unexplainable obsession with hockey goaltenders, and an unabashed affection for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
Meh. I remember this kind of book being the majority of what I read at one time. I loved the Paranormal and I loved the slight erotica.
Times have changed a bit.
I was looking for some Ranch Romances and this series was rec'd to me from a friend. Not this book, the next one, but I have to read in order as you all know...So, I saw this took place on Halloween so I decided to add this to my October reads.
Again, meh.
The Prologue was seriously hot as Hell but I feel maybe this was just too short to really get more of a feel for it. I also wished it had more of a Halloween vibe but whatever.
I'm definitely looking forward to some boy lovin' in the next one.
I was downloading some books when I saw this. I downloaded all the other books and I can say this is out of my age group. Still, being a curious kid, I read it. It was touching, at least for me and I loved how the story goes on and on.
I also read the other books which focus are gay couples *they're so cute ♥*
This is the first book in the series. I'm intrigued about the demonology I guess you would call it. Meaning all the specifics of the demons in this series' world. I'm intrigued enough by that to continue reading the series and for this book to get 3 stars. BUT, the book has a lot of sex and not a lot plot of character development. Also the romance and HEA come very easily all things considered.
The plot is okay, but the poor writing made it hard to continue. It's very cheesy and the sex scenes are too nasty for me. I DNF'd because I had no interest in the characters or what was happening to them.
🤢 TᕼE ᑭOᖇᑎO ᗪᖇEᗩᗰ ᗩT TᕼE STᗩᖇT: 💦 ▪️ ...she creamed even more. ▪️...her pussy clenched and pulsed deep inside. ▪️ ...releasing her musky fragrance into the air. ▪️Her channel grabbed hold and started milking his finger. ▪️...too caught up in Connor's fingers working in her cunt... ▪️Her pussy lips were red and swollen, glistening with moisture... ▪️He buried his face in her thatch and burrowed up the length of her dripping sex, lapping and drinking of her essence...
I found this to be an "odd" story. I am not quite sure what it was about it that didn't click with me, but whatever it was will not prevent me from reading the next in the series. It was a good lead in to the series. I liked Connor and Cassie. I am hoping for a little more of an explanation of the "world" per say as the series continues so I can get a little more involved. I love reading Cameron Dane so I can't wait to see where this series goes!
I have to say this is my first MF read for a while, can't remember the last time I read one before this one, to me it was too short, I kind of understand since its like and introduction to what comes next to a bit more romance and less hard-end-user would have been nice, and the man's gorilla-macho attitude could have done with some help I tell you but then there were a few parts that were ok, but could have been a bit better.
Essentially the demonic version of "The Beauty and the Beast" fairy tale. There is a whole lot of sex and over the top emotions and not much else. It's kind of overwritten with the author's quest for novel word choices more distracting than illuminating. As a short introduction to the series it did what it needed to do, hinting at a larger and more interesting world and held my attention long enough to want to read the next one.
I'm sorry to say that I've just never been a fan of cowboys, and I think thats what made it dull for me, every time there was a mention of horses I just started falling asleep. It's a shame really because I thought the demon side was fairly interesting. If you like cowboys you'll probably like it a whole lot more than I did.
i can't find the words to express how unenjoyable this story was. it focused on all the things i hate. the characters actions made no sense and there was no chemistry. oh, and there were times when i got the impression that sex was not something fun and warm and good, but that it is nasty and only to be tolerated for other goals. definitely not what i want!
Interesting beginning to a series that has several books that are M/M, this one however is not. The pace was fast, which it had to be since it was a short book. The chemistry between the MC's was outstanding. Looking forward to reading the next book!
I usually love Cameron Danes books, so I bought the whole series. Unfortunately this series is not the way she usually writes. The dialogue is way too sappy - too "Harlequin Romance-y" for my taste. Really struggling to get through the series.
I preferred most of the other stories in the series. This was a bit too short and the characters seemed more in lust than love but maybe with a longer story the "love" could have been illustrated better. The story was like a short porno! Hot sure but doesn't contain much else of worth.
Sets up the series nicely. Great contrast of characters with a lot of pent-up sexual tension. Love the brothers - added humour & knew that their individual stories would be worth waiting for.
Just seemed like this one had too quick an ending and the heroine's acceptance of what was required of her to keep her man was even faster than the... um... climax.
this book needed to be much longer to set up the world where demons exist alongside humans. i think the succeeding books in this series do more in that respect.
Ok story but the language and dialog was too forced or unbelievable. I mean who talks so formally. I definitely wouldn't think a demon cowboy would. I don't care how old he is.
I must be in denial - of myself, my pheelings, my paranormal self, that girl revolving around me, and that thing that sticks out my pants..because RESPONSIBILITY!!!
