As a childcare provider, it was a decent book. Unfortunately, I was looking for a book as a mother, not as a childcare provider. When the book said it was about "Starting school and early care", I assumed it meant starting kindergarten, possibly even preschool. This focused a lot on infants and toddlers, which frustrated me. I'm left to still hunt down a book that can help me help my son with his anxiety towards kindergarten. *sigh*
I read this book on the recommendation of my advisor, for the purpose of understanding the age group I'm currently student teaching (pre-K). Lots of great insight and advice not only for teachers but for parents as well... Specifically addressed very young children, but provides invaluable insight for children of all ages and for consideration of one's own separation experiences/issues.
