What's Their Story?

Captain Cook: The Great Ocean Explorer

Rate this book
James Cook grew up on a farm, but his secret dream was to be a sailor. He wanted to travel "as far as it was possible for man to go." James's three great voyages of discovery took him from Australia to the Arctic, further than anyone else had sailed before. His explorations filled in the last

I thought that this was a fantastic book by Haydn Middleton. I would say that it falls into the historic non fiction category.

This book is all about the fascinating explorations of James Cook and how he wanted to travel as far as man could go. My favourite part is when he discovers Easter Island. I do think that the author could have got more content out of a book like this.

I found that this book will help me in my history classes so maybe it is suitable for people for people around 12 to 16. It is also a very colourful book so I woudn’t be reading it beyond teenage years.

All in all i thought it was a very interesting book and I would rate it an 8 out of 10.

I thought this was interestingly done, but it didn't seem to do much for my 11 yr old son, who was the intended audience. I'm not sure why - I would have thought that it would have interested him.
