Bobby Kendrick has been fasinated with Dr. Parley Taylor ever since he wrote a very popular novel about homosexuality. Bobby had read and re-read Taylor's book, and idolized him and his views since he was fifteen.
Taylor has long since disappeared from the public eye, but Bobby never forgot him.
Bobby decides to write his thesis on Taylor's novel and makes the fateful decision to look up Taylor to meet and interview him.
Bobby is more than surprised when he finally tracks down Taylor and unexpectedly shows up on his doorstep. When Taylor isn't receptive to meeting Bobby and being interviewed by him, Bobby decides to take matters into his own hands.
Bobby is the all american man. He is handsome, smart and athletic. His non-faltering belief in Taylor and his feelings for him and willingness to fight for him makes him an endearing character.
Taylor is jaded by the world. He is sarcastic, handsome and has closed himself off from the world. When Bobby forces himself into his life, Taylor is drawn to Bobby despite himself. He does everything in his power to push Bobby away, but between the attraction has for Bobby and the way Bobby makes him feel...Taylor knows he is fighting a losing battle.
This book was very good! I wish it had been longer, but I thought that Taylor and Bobby's relationship was interesting and I found myself rooting for them to get together.
If you are offended by Explict M/M Sex and Strong Language this book is not for you.

I really enjoyed this book about a reclusive and cynical author who hides away from the world. A much younger man who happens to be a big fan, goes out of his way to find him and they begin a very unusual and very steamy romance...

I didn't think I would like this story as much as I did. It wasn't really romantic, but more jaded and cynical. I liked it because it was different. It even had a HEA!! ;)

Nicely done but too short. Sexual content was aggressively fantastic..and earned all my ★stars★. I could have pac-man-gobbled up a few more hundred pages of that action..easy.

This was a nice little romance, enjoyable and easy to read.

23-year old Bobby Kendrick is a huge fan of the 41-year old author Dr. Parley Taylor who's been a recluse for a long time. When Bobby finally flies to Kansas City to meet his idol and crush, he finds Taylor to be someone he didn't expect: Taylor lives in a tiny apartment in the crappy side of the town and is, first and foremost, a giant prick. And not in the good sense. But he's also brilliant and handsome, and Bobby desperately wants to tease (or force) out the man that - he is convinced - hides inside.
Taylor isn't too happy another fan knocks on his door and he does his best to scare him off. But Bobby isn't easily pushed away and after some time of conversation and bodily intimacy, Taylor finds to his own chagrin that maybe he isn't so keen anymore to get rid of him. And, anyway, Bobby's going to leave soon enough never to be heard of again, right? Right?

I liked the easy, casual writing style, the hot sex scenes and the characters - Taylor has a spiteful tongue up to the last minute and it's really his actions that speak his mind not his words, especially towards the end. And Bobby is just perfect - slightly stalker-ish and intrusive at the beginning maybe, but he is armed with the perfect mixture of patience and thick skin to bear with Taylor at his worst. And he needs both in this little story :-D

Despite the rather unrealistic turn of events (I just can't imagine that any author truly wanting to be left alone would accept anyone intruding like Bobby so easily - not to mention the whole ) - but I guess if you're too sensitive about things being realistic there aren't that many books left in the romance genre ;-D - I can recommend this book to anyone looking for a light, easy read!

I liked Bobby's devotion to Taylor. Taylor was such a hermit and grouchy, it was fun to watch him be taken down by the enthusiastic younger Bobby. They had good chemistry together, and I liked reading their story.

A Joyfully Jay review.

I do enjoy the writing team that makes up the author Jamie Craig (Vivien Dean and Pepper Espinoza) and have read other work by them both separately and under this pseudonym. However, this novella, Nowhere Man, is not one that has stood the test of time very well, in my opinion. Originally released under another publisher over a decade ago, the story relies on a lot of sex and very little else to make it interesting. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with scenes of intimacy when they are surrounded by a good story. Unfortunately, this one just lacked the cohesive plot that would keep this from falling into more of the erotica category than the romance one for me.

This wasn't a traditional romance nor were these characters what I expected. They were so much more and that's why I loved it!

The story didn't follow any formulas, it was really just the story of these two getting together. The mystery behind Parley Taylor wasn't the story and I'm glad there was no drama to it. I could see where some people might get a little peeved because everything wasn't tight up with a neat little bow. But, it really didn't have to be because that wasn't what the story was about.

Parley was really kind of a dick and I loved him for it. Bobby was a tough cookie and saw through Parley's defensive tactics. At least he hoped he did, he took quite a few gambles and it paid off in spades but it realistically could have gone either way and would have been totally believable. The conversations between the two got pretty adversarial and I had fun reading them. It was a battle of wits filled with sexual tension. Bobby didn't play by Parley's rules though and I liked reading about Parley getting all out of sorts because of Bobby's honesty.

The sex was off the charts smoking hot and it balanced out the things that Parley couldn't say. He didn't have to say things, that's not how he operates but he shows them big time.

I loved the ending. It wasn't a traditional HEA with big hearts and flowers but it was just as important because it fit them perfectly.

I do enjoy May-December romances if I don't pause to think about the age differences if it's more than ten years. So I enjoyed Nowhere Man, even though this theme - reclusive famous, older man meeting fanboy (or just 'boy') - has been done before, and even in het romances. The predictability of it did not lessen my enjoyment but it did, however, cause me to compare it with another May-Dec romance, Letting in the Light by Fae Sutherland which I liked from the start to the end. I took awhile to warm to Nowhere Man, hence 4 stars rather than 5 which I gave Sutherland's LitL. However, this could be because I read LitL first and only over a month ago. If I'd read Nowhere Man first, it may have gotten 5 stars, too.

I wasn't so satisfied with the ending in Nowhere Man though I can understand an 18 year-old giving up his university for love and sex. It didn't gain Taylor any points with me, however, for asking Bobby to do that and follow him to Canada. I hate it when the parent in me rears its romantic fiction-busting head:(

Never been a huge fan of May/December story, nevertheless, I enjoy this story very much. Bobby is a 23-year-old grad student, with strong will, needs in control, going to Kansas City to 'ambush' his favorite author, Dr. Parley Taylor, whom also the object of his crush and worship. I usually associate the older guy to be the 'top' in the relationship, but somehow in this story it works that Bobby is the one topping. I enjoyed reading their 'quiet' interaction, as they talk or have a date. It was fun reading how Bobby breaks into Taylor's thick wall and how they come together in the end. A couple of times, I got my heart squeezed when I read their dialogs. Might be one of my favorites from Jamie Craig.

Would have been a 5 star with more story - just felt incomplete. Great sex scenes that I didn't feel any urge to skim.
