Russell Conwell Hoban was an American expatriate writer. His works span many genres, including fantasy, science fiction, mainstream fiction, magical realism, poetry, and children's books. He lived in London, England, from 1969 until his death. (Wikipedia)
I am a great fan of the Hoban books about Frances, the loveable song-spinning badger. Letitia is cut from the same cloth, although I did not like the illustrations by Mary Chalmers. A library book sale find that added some delight to a bedtime read, for myself. There is a good reason they call them bedtime stories, an excellent way to clear the mind and ease the journey to pleasant dreams.
