Growing up on a farm and involved with the harvest, I always wondered about this group of people who roamed the prairies with the combines and trucks. Every year there were some in the neighborhood but our farm was one of those middle-sized ones that Dr Isern notes had their own harvesting equipment once the combines came to the market place. Before that they did hire harvesters with their threshers to help out. These links made this an enjoyable and educational book for me.
