Terrific historical fact/fiction , in tradition of the best of EL Doctorow. Meet Babe Ruth, confused, drunk, not the brightest bulb no matter how fearsome his swing. Yet the only Yankee sympathetic and admiring of the Negro Leagues, who kick the the white pros' butts in a pick-up game.
