Scooby-Doo is an "Ameri-canine" icon, the most beloved cartoon pooch of the past three generations.
The Gang's Favorite rock group, The Electric Pickle is playing a concert, but trouble goes down when the lead singer Steve Stringbean vanishes in a puff of pyrotechnics, and is replaced by, ZOINKS! A rock 'n' roll Zombie! Who's trying to ruin the band? Is it a bitter jilted ex-? a former band member? Maybe it's Steve Stringbean himself because he wants out of his contract!
Jesse Leon McCann is an American comic book and children's book author. He wrote most of the stories for the Pinky and the Brain comic series, edited two out of the four Simpsons episode guides, and wrote all of the Smiley the Psychotic Button comics for Chaos! Comics. McCann's Shrek II movie adaptation novel made the New York Times Best Selling Children's Book list in 2005. While McCann mostly scribes comic books and children's books, he has written for a variety of genres in different forms (such as the Austin Powers trivia game).
Would have been 5 stars except the back of the book says the lead singer’s name is Rodney Pickle...but the story inside the book refers to the lead singer as Steve Stringbean. Need Fred and the gang to solve that typo mystery!
standard scooby doo. kids will enjoy it although some phrases will be hard. there isn't much in terms of clues so it's not one of those books that will make kids think.
This was a pretty good Scooby Doo book, more for the younger readers than the 'hard core' Scooby Doo fans. My two special needs teenage sons one is mentally better than the other and he didn't like this book. He said that it left out to much stuff from the cartoon. But my other son and my 3 year old granddaughter did enjoy it. It was basic enough but not to basic it lost the storyline. And had just a 'hint' of scariness to it that my granddaughter would get a bit closer to me but still was interested in the story and then giggled at the end.
This is a fairly typical Scooby-Doo story, taking the gang to a rock concert. This is a good picture book, with a short narrative and lots of colorful, action-filled illustrations. The mystery wasn't too difficult, nor was it very scary. I purchased this for our youngest for her birthday and we enjoyed reading it together. We donated this book to our local library after we read it.
Michael, age 5, loves Scooby-Doo. He loves the fact that they are mysteries. Here's a review from Michael and his friend Edward, who says he likes Scooby-Doo books because they are "mystery fiction." You know you've got a book lover when he says things like that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DJtG...
Hilarious. Shaggy and Scooby are going to see their favorite band The Electric Pickle. Which is an awesome name for a band. Whoops, the lead singer is kidnapped and replaced with a zombie. They hunt high and low for the culprit. And of course, they solve another crime. They even get brought out on stage to sing. All ends well in Scooby land.
My son absolutely loves this book. We have checked it out from the library several times. The book is just the right length for a three years old's attention span and for a nighttime book for mommy to read.
