Possibly authors Katy Hall and Lisa Eisenberg saw the entire series of Groovie Goolies, a popular Saturday morning cartoon from 1969 which showcased classic monsters Dracula, Frankenstein and Wolfman, nicknamed Drac, Frankie and Wolfie, living in the same castle telling each other corny horror related jokes and basically putting up with each other. To me it was great fun, since often I crave old fashioned humor, I admit. So this book by Katy and Lisa was right up my alley, because to paraphrase Drac from that show: these jokes are driving me batty! Eek! Of course the illustrations are even better and make up for the drollness of the humor. See if you agree. Drac would understand.... I think???
