1. This is the life story of Perky the pelican and all of the things he does in his daily life.

5/6. I could use this book in a lesson on different types of birds, or it would be a great read-aloud in general.

A cute book with an agenda. Its kind of like the Ugly Duckling as it follows Perky from birth to adulthood. There is subtle commentary on fishermen. The Bycatch community would hate this because it shows bycatch as a positive thing for the pelicans.
