With the US military deployed in trouble spots around the globe, America looks to its last line of defense the citizens militia. Mike West is a patriot who honors his Mexican heritage but also understands that as an American it is his duty to fight against all enemies, foreign and domestic. When his country is invaded he joins with patriots from around the country to fight off the invaders. But, soon the militia members realize they are outnumbered and out gunned. Can a ragtag group of citizens prevail against a better-equipped and funded foreign army, or will their sacrifices be too little, too late?

I "met" John on a message board where we discuss guns and emergency preparedness. He was writing this story and when he finished, he put each chapter on the message board to let us all read it before it was published. He'd probably try and hunt me down with his AR15 if he knew I only gave it two stars....

Compelling story and a fun read. The frightning thing is that the scenario is all too plausable - some of the events are happening now and more could happen in the future. The story clearly shows why the second ammendment was included in the constitution and why the individual must retain that right. Thanks, John.

A good read. If you are "anal retentive" about proof reading, get ready to be upset.
