Note: I owned this book for years; it sat and sat, and then suddenly, now in 2013, a burst of reason to pick it up and read…
Because it is an anthology, I will 'fess up to reading only parts of the book, Parts 2 and 3, plus of course the introduction. And most resonant was Davis-Flloyd's essay in Part 3, where she struggles to bring together two seemingly opposing viewpoints.
Worth a read, and very interesting in context of my experience of hanging out with midwives and OBs from Europe.
