Great suggestions for hands on activities and crafts.

The book has an excellent variety of hands on activities for ancient Greece that seem easy to do with students. The section on Greek discoveries in math, science and astronomy is also very useful because of recommended activities to go with each part. Unfortunately, it contains a few but important factual errors such as implying Columbus discovered the New World and the thoroughly rejected and disproven falsehood that Muslims destroyed the library of Alexandria.

a good number of various activities

I’m excited to use some of these fast activities in my ancient history co-op. The information that goes along with the activities is interesting. Planning to use this with 3rd-5th graders.

I love books like this with simple, doable activities that introduce kids to important topics. The book design is nice. Any person could pick this up and quickly do a few activities about ancient Greece or Rome with little or no preparation.

I was, however, disappointed to find several errors almost immediately. The author explains that the Pythagoreans discovered 4 Platonic solids, then shows us how to make 5. (There are five.) She then explains that the Sieve of Eratosthenes works by crossing out the multiples of 2, 3 and 5. (She missed 7 for the 1-100 set, and the idea that every prime's multiples are crossed out in theory.) So, there are probably other errors, but it's just a fun book for kids.
