Throughout his quest, he's imagined the day he'd finally get to return to Errinel, safe in the knowledge that he'd kept the kingdom safe.
But Malvel has other ideas. Eager for revenge, the Dark Wizard has unleashed his latest Beast, Soltra the Stone Charmer, into the marshes that border Tom's own village. And as he races forward to meet the next Beast, all Tom can think about is his family--which is exactly what Malvel wants . . .
Adam Blade is the house name for the Working Partners Ltd. ghostwriters who write the Beast Quest and Sea Quest series.
Adam Blade is in his late twenties, and was born in Kent, England. His parents were both history teachers and amateur artists, and Adam grew up surrounded by his father’s paintings of historic English battles – which left a lifelong mark on his imagination. He was also fascinated by the ancient sword and shield that hung in his father’s office. Adam’s father said they were a Blade family heirloom.
As a boy, Adam would spend days imagining who could have first owned the sword and shield. Eventually, he created a character – Tom, the bravest boy warrior of them all. The idea for Beast Quest was born.
When Adam grew up and decided that he wanted to be a writer, he was stuck for ideas – until he remembered the old sword and shield, and the imaginary boy he had created when he was young. Adam decided to bring Tom fully to life so that readers could go on the kind of adventures that he always wanted to when he was that age… And still does, even though he’s grown up!
When he’s not writing Beast Quest books, Adam enjoys visiting museums and ancient battle sites. His main hobbies are fencing and football. He also spends a lot of time at home running around after his two exotic pets – a tarantula named Ziggy, and a capuchin monkey named Omar. These little rascals were the inspiration for two of the Beasts that Tom faces on his Quest – Arachnid and Claw.
Sadly, Adam does not have his own Fire-Dragon or Horse-Man. But he really wishes he did!
Book 9 was somewhat disappointing. Same characters and formula but it didn’t engage us. Even the 7 year old thought it was meh.
The same issues with the illustrations not matching the story but this time they were so off it was worse than distracting... it bothered us and became the key piece of the story that we discussed.
I did not like this book because Soltra, the Stone Charmer, could turn things into Stone. I enjoyed this book because Tom defeated Soltra, the Stone Charmer.
Beast Quest: Soltra the Stone Charmer is nothing less than the pinnacle of Western literature, a work so profoundly rich in meaning and artistry that it renders all previous attempts at storytelling mere footnotes in its shadow. This book is not a tale; it is an odyssey of the soul.
Tom’s quest to confront Soltra, the malevolent enchantress who petrifies her victims with a single glance, is a masterpiece of psychological depth and moral complexity. Soltra herself is a villain for the ages—more layered than Iago, more compelling than Heathcliff. Her powers of transformation are not merely magical but deeply allegorical, representing the chilling paralysis of fear in the human condition.

oooo i liked this one! and it was strangely different.
in this secondary series, all the beasts so far have scattered into regular animals when they’re destroyed. the giant squid turned into a bunch of small regular squids, the giant monkey turned into a bunch of small regular monkeys. but this one, this stone charmer, didn’t. just turned to dust.
it’s exciting. and it was also exciting to have tom return to his home village and receive the compass left for him by his father.
i’m looking forward to the next book and tom’s destiny.

This book is for about 7-9 year old children. I like how they have you some of the start of the next book at the end because you can use it to know if you like it or not and if you do you can just go and buy it. Although stopping at the point it did I think isn't good. So you see why I have it that amount of stars.
This was my least favourite of all the books so far, I did enjoy Tom going back to see his auntie and uncle but I was not a fan of the final battle and the way the story panned out, although you need to read this to keep understanding the story it was not a highlight for me!
Definitely an interesting concept. Reminded me of Medusa(I believe that's her name) with the snakes, and her turning you to stone if you stare at her directly. I liked it.

This story in the Golden Armour series is quite a scary one for six to eight year olds.
One feature I like about this series is that the world around Tom and Elenna is well described so that we can feel the oozing mud and tangling brambles as they walk. Nobody said being a hero would take them to nice places! In this book they do get to visit a nice place, a lake, near Tom's original home. But a tall, cloaked woman is walking around turning people into stone with her gaze. How can Tom fight her when he can't look at her and she keeps retreating into the mist?
I like this tale because there is more of using wits required to defeat the Beast than in other tales and we get to see Tom's family. We also learn that sometimes if something seems really pleasant it can still do you harm. This is the last in the Golden Armour series but of course the adventure is far from over!
I think this book is very exciting book.Beast Quest is the story that hero hunt beast. It was very excited when the Tom(hero1) kill the witch. He is my favorite character in that fantasy book. This story is the Tom fight with woman that make something stone. I like the way Tom kill her. Use the sunlight, It is the most smart plan I ever read.
