If you want a good overvew of astrology, Susan Miller is your girl. This book is a good overview of beginning astrology.

Ни для кого не секрет, что, например, Томас Пинчон любит ввернуть что-нибудь астрологическое в свои романы. В той же «Радуге тяготения» неоднократно упоминаются Рыбы (21 раз), Девы (3 раза), Скорпионы и Стрельцы (по 1 разу) и, если вы не в теме, один из смыслов романа от вас просто ускользнёт. А у Милорада Павича в «Хазарском словаре» каждая часть книги соответствует определённому Знаку Зодиака.

Одна из очень адекватных астрологов, книги и статьи которой я могу посоветовать — Сьюзан Миллер. Она из семьи книгоиздателей к тому же, поэтому чудесно, легко пишет, читать её интересно. Сложные понятия объясняет простым языком.

Кроме описания чисто астрологических вещей, каждая глава книги Сьюзан начинается с научных фактов о планетах и о созвездиях, а заканчивается мифами, из которых родились названия Знаков Зодиака. После прочтения мне захотелось освежить в памяти мифы Древней Греции, особенно запомнились истории о Гермесе, вестнике Богов, и о Тесее и Минотавре. Было интересно узнать, что символом созвездия Рака не всегда был Рак/Краб: в разные эпохи его символизировали Медведь, Черепаха и даже Скарабей — в Древнем Египте.

Demorei mas acabei. É um livro bem completo pra quem quer estudar ou conhecer mais sobre o Sol em cada signo do zodíaco. A Susan é bem didática e analisa os signos solares nas esferas da mitologia e da astrologia. Os planetas também (na parte da ciências, mitologia e da astrologia). Muito legal!

I really liked this book. I'm using this book and another to help me develop realistic personalities in fictional characters. I personally think my own sign fits me so well by this description, and the myths she adds attached to each sign are a nice touch.

Susan is an engaging and charming person who is very knowledgeable about astrology. All of this is very clear in her book and her website. I learned a lot from the way she interprets the charts.
