I read this book originally the year after it came out. Bought it at Zellers in the discount bin.
Got it again this year, and wow, it is just as weird as I remembered. There is some problematic language in the book, but it comes from horrible characters we are supposed to dislike, so it works. The sex and violence level is such that there is no way I should have been reading it as a child; this book should probably have a warning label on it.
If you are an adult though and want to read a very weird, kind of disturbing, and rather entertaining book, this one could be for you. It is hard tracking down a copy though, so the hunt is part of the fun.
