The basics. History of key philosophies and discoveries. Details I'd forgotten and new ones I won't memorize, but a great outline. Midwives and their herbal remedies was the most interesting part. pg 30-33.

"Although physicians regarded apothecaries as inferior, they won great respect during the Great Plague of London" because they didn't flee to the countryside. ..."They were often the most qualified medical men" because organized society's regulated their work to maintain standards.

I read the whole thing on a road trip from Charlotte.
