Laurie Barber

12 books1 follower
Laurie Barber was one of 12 journalists and the only Australian named in the 1980 Golden Quill award presented by the International Society of Weekly Newspaper Editors. He was runner-up in the 1980 award for Australian Journalist of the Year. Since 1995 he has written a weekly newspaper column called My Word, appearing in regional newspapers throughout Australia. He has written several books, including My Word and Ringo, as well as the limited edition Massacre at Myall Creek and a newspaper style book called Please Print for Country Press Australia. He is a former Rotary district governor. My Word and Ringo give a generally not-too-serious account of the incorrect ways we use the English language.
