The Kennedys Dynasty and Disaster, 1848-1983

Rate this book
John H. Davis's illuminating and informative history of America's most provocative family stretches from the bludgeoning business tactics of Joseph P. Kennedy to Senator Ted Kennedy's involvement in the Palm Beach scandal and the latest developments in the JFK and RFK assassination cases.

As first cousin to Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis, Davis has enjoyed a close relationship with the Kennedy family. This familiarity has allowed him access to a number of previously unpublished personal letters, papers and recently released transcripts, which, combined with months of interviews, have produced one of the most comprehensive and revealing biographies ever written on an American family clan.

The Kennedys have always been a source of fascination for me. Their lives seemed to be charmed and tragic. This book deals with some of the facts surrounding their lives and their deaths. I did enjoy this book and found it to be very informative and concise. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn the history of the Kennedys and the tragic lives they lived.

A wonderful biography sketching the historical foundations, spectacular growth and intimate lives of one of the most famous families in history. The author speaks with such authority and level-headedness on each ‘character’, so that one can almost be fooled into feeling they know them personally, as he did. Wonderful, gripping and intricate read.

Very well written and researched. Writer is a first cousin of Jackie Kennedy. He brings a real love for the family but is not afraid of where the facts take him.

A biography of the Kennedy family starting from the greatgrandfather of JFK. The book was written by a cousin of Jacklyn Onassis. A great book but what a corrupt family. It was a long book filled with so much detail and facts but I loved it.

This book takes you from the begining in Ireland to the struggle in Boston and up the ranks of the political ladder. I enjoyed every detail.
