This book was a huge disappointment. It breaks my heart to write this review as I'm a huge fan of Susan Carroll. I loved her Dark Queen series and found her writing in that series crisp and entertaining.
But Masquerade felt like it was written by an inexperienced writer that had read Diana Gabaldon's over-written novels and tried to copy that style.
I struggled to finish this book and would not recommend it.
