A campy, gossipy, and bitchy hoot. Although mostly forgotten today, Rona Barrett, according to her book, reached "the pinnacle" of success in the early 70s. This tome chronicles her rise and she hilariously casts herself as Joan Crawford; a tough-as-nails exterior hiding a lonely lady desperately in need of an unmarried man's love. Of course, this being the 70s, it takes a visit to the analyst to figure that all out.

A camp classic, especially if you like gossip about Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme. As I remember fondly, it's beyond ridiculous.

Read in 1975. Autobiography of Rona Barrett, a famous gossip columnist in Hollywood. I remember her well. Never too mean or catty.
