If ever I have read a book that makes me question my ability to understand the English language, this is it. 🤨 This was written in 1859 and I had a difficult time understanding it until I found the cliff notes online. So after each chapter I would review what I had just read. Not every chapter, but almost. But I did catch on eventually and I found it interesting and easier to follow as the story progressed. It turned out to be pretty good after all. Glad I got through it and didn’t give up. 👍🏻
IM SORRY BUT THATS ONE OF THE BEST ENDINGS IVE EVER READ. Carton getting all sentimental but hopefull and content with LITERALLY DYING FOR A WOMAN HE LOVES omg and the little girl… I however think the first section was stupid and the writing was just not it The second section was like, a little better and things were actually happening but GOLLY the third section so much happened with character development and it was scrumptious For being written such a long time ago with old English I thought I’d hate but but BOY O BOY I was wrong Will 100% read again
This book gives me mixed vibes I hated the first one the second book was fine and the third one was really good. I did read this for class so that makes it more difficult.
It was the best of books, it was the worst of books. It was the best characters, it was the worst character, it was the happiest book, it was the saddest book.
This is sincerely the best Charles Dickens book ever. I loved Charles, Lucie, Miss Pross, and Dr. Manette. My favorite was Sydney Carton. When he professed his love for Lucie I almost cried and fell in love with him immediately. And when he said that he would die for those that SHE loved or her I melted. But at the end of the book I had a crying fest. His last thoughts made me cry harder.
I loved Miss Pross, from the moment she entered the room. And then when she killed that HORRID Madame Defarge! I was so happy. Her speech about how love is stronger than hate and how she would die for Lucie!

I read a lot and Read 25% of this and had to stop. Maybe cool about the period and comments on society of the time. Painful to read and not entertaining. I would read a textbook if I wanted to read something like this.
