So… over the past couple years, I lowkey turned my back on Israel 🇮🇱 for a lot of reasons. But one day while I was out book shopping 🛍️📚, I felt this strong nudge from the Holy Spirit like: “Grab that book.” So I did. 👀🙌
And y’all… I’m glad I listened. 😭✨ This book wrecked me in the best way. It reminded me why Christians should support Israel, and not in a surface-level “because we’re supposed to” kind of way—but with real depth. 👏
The author even dives into the early Church Fathers 🧔📜 and calls out their “anti-Semitism” (I’m putting that in quotes ‘cause let’s be honest… that word gets tossed around like candy today 🍬👀).
This book touches on stuff nobody talks about—and in super intriguing ways. I took so many mental notes 🧠📝. And honestly? They’re all theologically sound and backed up with evidence. 🔥💯
But now for the big ol’ “BUT”… 😬👉 In the last few chapters, the author starts getting a little ✨cinematic✨ with his End Times opinions. Like, man’s really out here casting people in specific end-time roles like he’s directing a movie 🎬📜. It was giving bold creative liberty and ngl, that part kinda lost me. 💀
Also—just a heads up—he is very Pro-Rapture 🚀 and very Anti-Replacement Theology 🛑🌿 (in case that’s your thing or… not).
Final thoughts? Great read. Shocking info. Tons of receipts 📚🔍. Some spicy opinions near the end 🌶️🤨.
Rating: 3.75/5 ⭐️💫 Would recommend—with a small side-eye near the finale. 👁️👁️
I am not a big fan of John Hagee's ministry. His lighter version of "positive confession", his association with the Word of Faith hereticks like Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, etc., his topical preaching with very little Bible teaching, and even his extreme version of support for the Jews and Israel (and I am very strong in my support, by the way) are all good reasons among others NOT to recommend his ministry.
But this book standing alone, was a very good book. It is well-written. And when I read this, I was less aware of Hagee's theological (and personal) issues.
However, if you want to read a good book on the Jews, Israel and Jerusalem, I would recommend Dave Hunt's works, "Jerusalem: A Cup of Trembling," and "Judgment Day."
Solid 100/10! Love this book his “In Defense Of Israel” only brushed up on the history but, this book really goes into way more depth of what Israel and the Jewish people have faced over the ages. Tho it may have been written in the 90s it really shows how what’s going on now has always been. Love this book. Highly recommend. It needs to be read and people need to be educated on these events rather then dooming the Jewish people from their ignorance! Kinda sus that this app has low reviews on these sort of books and they are hard to find when searching.. also sus how everywhere else the reviews are highly rated still some haters but mainly high yet here it’s a lot of uneducated garbage. Kinda strange.
Interesting read. He writes "angry" which is understandable but makes for difficult reading. I'm glad I read this, but don't think I'll purchase more books by the author other than those already in my "to be read" pile.
From a far different theological viewpoint than my own. He is old line dispensational viewpoint and this book looks at the future of the nation of Israel from that perspective. Not one of my favorite books by far.
