Excellent review of Cather's works, and the subsequent scholarship. Only 3 stars because I just didn't find much of the last 2 chapters interesting - I'm not a literary scholar, so there wasn't much there for me.
Sometimes reading about an author or other figure who's work you've not yet consumed can be an interesting experience. This is not one of those cases. Having no background reference for her writings, this book held no interest for me. If I come across some of her work I'll surely read it. Perhaps then I'll return to give this one another try.
Tracking the development of Willa as she grew as an author was a great read. Her distain for the remote Nebraska finally grew to a love of the people who settled that state.
