Billy has always been a loner, but after being bitten by a ferocious wolf, his need for solitude becomes even greater. He can’t get a handle on the wild forces now running through him. He makes the best of it by carving out a territory in the Canadian wilderness, but he’s far from happy with his lot in this strange, new life. Luc knows Billy is just the guy he’s looking for. His small pack is made up of men who are special even among weres. Their ability to control the elements -- air, earth, fire and water -- makes them uniquely qualified to act as spirit guardians. But presently there are only three, and they need Billy to complete them or Luc will lose much more than his position as alpha. It’ll take a lot of fast talking to convince Billy to join their pack, but first the Wild Ones will have to catch him…

When not editing unruly grammar, I compose a few lines for my own muses. Gay erotica tends to intrigue me the most, set in a variety of settings from space age to modern times, from vampires and werewolves to shape-shifters and even the occasional human. After spending half my life in these realms of fantasy, I still love to visit new places and meet new characters whenever my muse drops by.

A Joyfully Jay review.

3.5 stars

This novella is very well balanced with a tightly focused plot and some creative world building. The four characters are sketched out decently enough to get a feel for them: Luc is as steady and calm as his Earth element, Jaques is as yielding as Water, and Steven is as warm and passionate as Fire. And then there’s Billy, tempestuous and fretful.

For what it is, this is an easy read, with the focus on the athletic sexcapades and Billy having to learn his place in the new hierarchy. The author’s writing style is a bit spare, but it works with the story being told. If you’re into shifters and polyamory, you might enjoy this story.

A good short read. Likeable story and characters. Just a little slow. 3*.

Whoa, baby. This one is hot!

I wasn’t sure what I was in for when I picked up this book. Shifters? Yes! Hot guy on guy action? I’m in. They’re all in this together? Sold!

I liked the writing of this story. It moved along at a great clip and kept me intrigued throughout. I wanted to know how this would play out. I’m glad I kept reading. This one was hot, and I want to know more about this pack.

The pack, The Wild Ones, aren’t an average wolf pack. They each have an element they manipulate and have to come together as four to make things work. I liked the impatience and bit of fighting between them because it made them more real. I also liked that Billy didn’t just roll over and submit to them. The fight was good. I also really liked the way the four came together. I got that there were two main couples, but they all worked together and when they had their foursome…oh man.

If you’re wanting a shifters story that’s a fresh take, then this is the one for you. I recommend it.

I enjoy MM paranormal stories, and this one was particularly interesting because the author (new to me) introduced the idea of a small pack tied not only to the land but also to the elements. The main focus of the story is how the pack leader Luc and his two pack members corral and convince Billie, their fourth, to join and bring balance to the pack. There is a lot of sex between the four, which I enjoyed, and enough of the back story to make it interesting. I wish for more on the background of the spirit animals, how they protect the land and the people, etc., and I hope this is the start of a new series.

This was an interesting, engaging, and sensual/erotic story. I liked the unique idea of shifter were-wolves protecting the land and tribe, but I felt like I was missing some history, and I wanted more information about what the wolves and their elements actually DO (besides make out and have sex). It was a nice beginning, but there wasn't a lot of story beyond Billy making the choice whether or not to accept his fate and join the pack.

I enjoyed this book. It was an interesting, quick read. I loved the idea of were wolves that can control the different elements- fire, water, air, and earth. It was unique and interesting, and something I would expect from a book about a witch coven. I liked that the personality of each of the men is also in tune to the element that that individual controls. This was the first book I've read by this author. 4 stars.

Billie

Billie had been turned into a werewolf. He's not happy about it and it takes dime convincing from Luc for him to join their pack. When he does though the pack is now evened out and they have lots of spicy time together.

I found the male bonding in this book wonderful. A little different twist of paranormal than I've read, but I loved it. Yes, it's another erotic romance. In this story, four men must learn to live and love together...interesting and with just the right amount of spice!

The spirit element to the wolves was a nice twist. I wish I understood better what their purpose was but that wasn't the purpose of the story. Stay or go? Either choice has serious consequences.
