Here, in one convenient volume, the editor has brought together the extensive information about the abundances of the elements in the different classes of meteorites. One chapter is devoted to each element or group of closely-related elements, and the authors of the individual chapters are usually scientists who have been responsible for much of the analytical work on these specific elements. The greater part of the data collected in this book has been obtained during the past decade; almost certainly the volume will satisfy the need for a standard reference work on the subject. It is particularly timely to publish this material, in view of the recent collection of extraterrestrial matter from the moon, and hopefully in the future from other planetary bodies. Both graduate and post graduate workers in the fields of chemistry, geochemistry and meteorites will find this reference work of particular value.
