This handy guide (now revised and enlarged) provides the information needed to identify all the mammals found along the coast of California and describes the best places to observe them. It also summarizes the anatomy, physiology, and behavior that enable these delightful creatures to survive in their ocean homes.
This is an excellent and concise guide to the myriad of marine mammals found off the coast of California. The guide provides valuable identification tips and gives brief natural history of the mammals. My favorites are the Humpback whales, Dall's Porpoises, Elephant Seals and Sea Otters found along the central coast.
