If I'm in a murderous mood, I might write a murder mystery or chilling thriller. When there's romance in the air, I've been known to pen a love story.

On a more personal note, I've been married to the same guy for forty years. I'm the mother of two grown sons and grandmother to one grandson and one granddaughter. I share my home in Pennsylvania with my husband and two felines. It's an interesting life.

This was a quick and entertaining read. A female author finally signs a contract to have a novel published and gets $5 million as an advance. The next thing she knows is that she is being kidnapped. She is taken to a barn and warned by the head of the kidnappers that she has to do more investigation about her novel. Her plot involves a murdered girl (30 years earlier) and the men who are now President and Vice President. The more she investigates, the more she begins to see that her novel is more real than she imagines. There were some stupid parts, such as the head of the kidnappers developing a crush on the author, but basically the plot worked well and held your interest.

I'd never heard of this author before. I received this book through Amazon as a freebie of the day! I'm so glad I took the chance on the book and read it today! It was a really good mystery and kept me hooked from page one! It never let go until the end of the book! Great job Debra! I can't wait to read more by you!

This is the first book I have read by this author. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's about a writer who receives a substantial sum of money for a novel she has written. Her book is about a college murder which gets the attention of the White House. Along with the abundant wealth comes fear and a bugged home. She is totally perplexed. Very enjoyable read.

Redemption by Debra Lee takes the reader into the fictional life of an author who has been advanced an enormous amount of royalty money for her novel. Though I might question why she and her husband didn't suspect something fishy, that is beside the point. When I read a novel, I choose to suspend disbelief.

The protagonist, Kay Diggs, experiences several unpleasant events (no spoilers from me!) after the release of her novel. Apparently someone doesn't want details of her story revealed.

Is the story Kay Diggs wrote based on facts? Did these events really happen?

That is the crux of Debra Lee's novel. And I'd like to point out that she offers a valuable lesson to writers:
Research, Research, Research.
Redemption is a tale is fiction, but as protagonist/author Kay Diggs learned, it is important to know of what you write!

It was a little difficult keeping track of all the characters because the story would ignore some for chapters at a time, especially in the beginning when you're trying to learn who everyone is. I enjoyed the story, however.

Okay read

Writing was fine but the story was missing something. There just didn't seem to be much suspense in this one.
