Sally Morgan is an ordinary woman with an extraordinary gift: she can communicate with the dead. Her first psychic experience was when she heard voices when she was just nine months old. She has done thousands of readings for people who have experienced a personal tragedy and suffered a great loss. This book tells her story.
Good book, but I have read more interesting books on the topic. My one annoyance with this book, is the 'secret squirrel' stuff. If you can not/will not discuss something, I would have rather Sally did not bring the subject up, or just write a disclaimer at the start of the book.
I enjoyed this book, I have a genuine interest in the subject and have always liked Sally on the TV although I was not so impressed with her one live show I went to see! The book was a good read although I was disappointed that she wrote so much about the things she "didn't want to discuss". Overall a good insight into her life.
I've mixed feeling about this book as Sally seemed to be very selective about what she talked about so I don't feel that I got a true overview of things - she'd tempt you with a bit of info then say no more! – & by the end I didn’t feel that much wiser about her life as a psychic.
Mainly it annoyed me that she'd say something potentially intriguing then clam up about it. For example, talking about a spirit in the bathroom of her childhood home… "…it would make me do things. Naughty things I can't tell you about. ….some things are too personal. Too dark and too frightening." - so why mention this at all?! Keep schtum & I'd've been none the wiser but now I was imagining all sorts of potential horrors – not fair!! How can you expect others to understand how you cope with being psychic if you only relate how you help people? I wanted know of the "dark & frightening" side of her gift.
Financial hardship, ill health in the family & other tragedies all lead up to Sally finally taking on the role as Psychic as a career. There’s no doubt she'd had a tough life & at the risk of sounding unsympathetic, I bet there's many like me who can't help but find it ironic that she couldn't foresee these events happening!
As Sally's fame spreads her client base expands to the celebrity world – although Sally's dealings with the Princess of Wales I took with a pinch bucket of salt. The latter chapters seemed to be just a namedropping exercise which frankly I wasn’t interested in. For me the incidents with "normal" folk were much more interesting. The boy whose mother drowned is one such scenario….& one that bought a lump to my throat.
It certainly does give cause to wonder just how did she know that? The only person who will truly know the validity of Sally’s gift is Sally herself.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Not having been a fan before B.B., I thought I’d take a read? 😄 What a nice person Sally Morgan is. This will give you a good insight into the life of a medium. I do believe.
Wow I have always loved this woman but you can just tell how caring and compassionate she is when reading her words in this first book... the things she has seen and experienced what a very interesting and inspiring lady ❤️💋
You get a sense of her personality and it's an interesting glimpse into her upbringing, but there wasn't much depth to this book. She just can do certain things, and that's all there is to it. It's so frustrating. Why is it that some people can see what they think are spirits? You can feel her frustration and she's very honest about a couple of occasions in her life where she'd have loved to have had warning messages. She never mentioned the light, or lost souls, or possession, just talked about making contact with the spirit realm, so her explorations are different from many people's again.
We're groping at the elephant in the dark room again. It's clear she believes in her version of reality, but I don't think it's the whole story.
In parts charming, in parts brave, in parts frustrating but ultimately Sally's voice and personality came through. Always interesting to read about a person's life (warts'n'all) - and on the whole I would always chose an autobiography but maybe in this instance a biographer would have produce a deeper look at Sally's Psychic Life and brushed off the superficial for another occasion… (On a personal level we had a very accurate reading, about the circumstances behind and death of a relative in a photograph, by Sally at a live show, for which I would give her 4*)
I watched Sally on TV and was amazed. I then went to one of her live shows and was very impressed. I bought the book at the show and met Sally she signed my book. I couldn't put this book down, it has small chapters so if you want to you can just have a few minutes here and there. I read in bed before I go to sleep so I thought it may scare me. It didn't! I found it fascinating.
Interesting, but slightly frustrating. She starts to tell you something then changes her mind. You can appreciate why that is, but why start in the first place. She could have just omitted it. However, there is no doubt that she is an extremely gifted woman.
I think she is one of those people who like to big things up! I find it interesting that she has a gift but I think she adds drama and can spin a yarn, if she just kept her feet on the ground and told things as they are with no added extras I'd like her more.
I think this is a really good book and if your interested in psychic ability and stories of someone who is psychic then it's a big plus! A very interesting read!
Quite interesting but annoying when she name drops and then gives no details. The biographical stuff was engaging but I got bored of all the celebrity mentions.
Very easy reading, and interesting too. Her views of Diana, Princess of Wales made me think a bit. Glad she didn't give too much away either to her or to us.
