A collection of Scriptural passages are interpreted to help readers dramatically experience God's Word and follows such topics as the will and character of God, forgiveness, prayer, the Holy Spirit, and devotional service.
"William Franklin Graham III (born July 14, 1952), known as Franklin Graham, is an American Christian evangelist and missionary. He is president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) and of Samaritan's Purse, an international Christian relief organization." -- Wikipedia
Franklin Graham speaks in such plain, easy-to-understand language. I like the 30 day format, the use of scripture, and his obvious command perspective on the subject of who Jesus is, how He relates to us and us to Him, and the interaction of the Holy Spirit pointing to Jesus. Also, Graham helps one understand the absolute necessity of forgiveness freely given by God but not freely given by us.
I didn't read this book as the suggested 30-day daily devotional. I instead read it straight, like an informative guide to faith and various aspects of it. At times, I found it a bit wordy and repetitive, but overall, I found the information and lessons to be powerful and important for the Christian faith. Recommend it for anyone looking to renew, build, or reasses their faith. The various chapters and themes felt meaningful and applicable to daily life in a modern current life. The three stars are for the times it was repetitive and hard to keep my attention when it became overly wordy.
This is an amazing 30 day devotional to help anyone grow in your Christian faith. My favorite line from the book is "He sent the Spirit to be our constant Companion and indwelling source of comfort and power." Such powerful words in our faith with Jesus. The last and final chapter, chapter 30 is an amazingly powerful chapter on forgiveness. Even if you are not of Christian faith, it would be helpful if you or someone you know is struggling with forgiveness.
I read straight through. Will read again and make it a daily devotional next time around. My favorite two principles were going beyond the immediates (distractions we allow) to the ultimate goal (God). Lots of great nuggets here.
I think the book was amazing because it has great application. I can relate my daily life with the book as I put the words of God into practice. The book also has great prayers. I really enjoyed a section of the book from Ephesians 1:7 and Ephesians 4:32. In this section it states that we must forgive others just as Jesus has forgiven us for our sins. We are only forgiven of our sins if we forgive others. Jesus Christ has died for our sins and the sins of this world, through Him we could live unto righteousness. I would recommend this book to any Christian.
Just received in the mail after making a donation to Samaratin's Purse. Looking forward to reading.......... What an awesome devotional! Everyone should have a copy of this devotional. It's written so that everyone and anyone can understand that everything really is ALL FOR JESUS. The chapters are short, clear and to the point and there is a beautiful prayer at the end of each one. This is a devotional that I'm not going to put away - it'll stay out where I can grab it when I need to.....
I received this as a free gift when visiting Samaritan's Purse headquarters in Boone, NC this past spring. I initially thought it would be a devotional with deep wording and thoughts, but I found it to be an easy reading with a great message and reminders that my life's focus should be "All for Jesus." I finished yesterday and sending it to my sister tomorrow...it is a book to be shared.
