Kago Shintarō ( 駕籠真太郎) is a Japanese illustrator and manga artist. Kano was born in Tokyo in 1969. He debuted in 1988 on the magazine COMIC BOX. Since then his comics, usually short stories, have been published in several adult manga magazines, gaining him considerable popularity around the world. Kago specialises in ero-guro, a Japanese visual genre that puts its focus on eroticism, sexual corruption, and grotesque body horror. Many of Kago's manga have strongly satirical overtones, and deal with grotesque subjects such as extreme sex, scatology and body modification. His unique style has been called "fashionable paranoia".
It's sh*t. I'm not kidding. It's a gore comic about sh*t, s*x, pus, rape and everything disgusting. If you read this, you can finally tell the world, been there done that. I'm taking a wild guess that Human Centipede got its idea from this comic.
First 5 chapters have nice nonsense/black humor. All the rest is scatology-related, some funny, most disgusting as fuck. The 3 or so sci-fi in this volume are really awful also, was expecting more on that particular genre of the man who came up with Super-Conductive Brains Parataxis and An Inquiry Concerning A Mechanistic Worldview of the Pituitary Gland...
The first 4 chapters are creative plus hilarious. But from the 5th one onwards, beware, it's mostly about anus and feces, in a imaginarily scientific manner. But still, it's almost impossible to stop reading, and eventually you'll get the strongly awkward feeling of "what the f**k did I just read?".
A compilation of many short one offs. These were actually a bit too erotic and gory for my tastes, but there were some gems in there. I should note how odd and occasionally frustrating it is to me that some of the most psychologically interesting material which can be construed as "horror manga" is in the guro genre.
"Dream Toy Factory" (English scanlation) - It amazes me that this could have possibly been bought or sold in any store, anywhere, ever. Unrateable, but I was entertained. The Marquis de Sade would be proud, Jesus.
Dénme un minuto, voy a vomitar y regreso a dar mi opinión... ¡Ok! Otra fuerte y bastante gráfica historia de Shintaro, con una historia bastante perturbadora y como en cada tomo, bastante grotesca
A collection of extremely explicit one-shots that push the boundaries of grotesque, black comedy horror.
This was absolute torture, the ultimate test of endurance. It's so repulsive, disgusting and brutal that it made me feel like I needed to bath my eyes in holy water. And you know what? I have to give credit to the author for being able to make me feel that way. I went into this book expecting to be disturbed and horrified and I was not let down. I'm a masochist when it comes to horror fiction, I like finding the most sickening stories out there just to prove to myself that I can endure them from beginning to end. This was no exception. Congrats to the author for making me feel sick to my stomach while being genuinely creative and 100% original in the process.
