It's cute that Santa is so excited about Christmas Eve that his reindeer and the pets of the houses he visits have to keep reminding him to be quiet as he delivers presents so he doesn't wake the children.
FOR REFERENCE:
Santa's Noisy Night was originally published in 1996 as Shhh!
A cute little story about Santa trying to stay quiet as he delivers presents even though often overcome with holiday spirit and is evidently pretty clumsy
This is a silly book about a clumsy Santa who has to be reminded to be quiet so the children aren't woken. The illustrations are vibrantly colorful and cartoonish.
There's a lot of repetition to the narrative and I can imagine read alouds with young children being very interactive.
Un album de Noël trop rigolo. Le père Noël doit être discret pour ne pas réveiller les enfants, mais.... ! A lire et mimer à haute voix, grand régal pour les enfants, qui voudraient presque que l'histoire dure plus longtemps !
Santa is noisy, and everyone continuously reminds him throughout the book that he has to be quiet so he doesn't wake the children. I like the illustrations. I'm not crazy about Santa books.
Santa just can't contain his excitement about Christmas! It is, after all, his favorite time of the year. Santa needs to be careful, though, and not let his guffaws of happiness wake the children! In this picture book, author Julie Sykes captures the childish excitment that comes along with Chritmas through a childlike, and very relatable Santa. Her use of bolded wording of Santa's exclamations makes the reader fully grasp the loud-bellied joy Santa is having a hard time covering up. With full-bleed, double page spreads, illustrator Tim Warnes captures the longevity of Santa's journey perfectly. The lovable, cartoony drawings are also very much to thank for the lighthearted feeling the reader gains from reading this book. The bright colors, as well as the happy smiles on all of the characters faces really bring in the warm atmosphere of a child on Christmas day.
In this book Santa is so excited about delivering all of the Christmas presents that he keeps on forgetting that he has to be quite or else he will wake up all the children. Many characters through out the book are reminding him to not wake up the children. This is just a cute book. After reading it a few times children could start reading along especially the part when Santa is told "SHHH, Santa. You mustn't wake the children!" Preschool - 3rd grade I think would like this book read to them or to read it themselves
I think this is a really fun children's book to read around the holidays. It has cute rhyming, a fun little plot about not waking the children on Christmas Eve, and is short enough to be a good bedtime story. The only thing I thought a bit odd is that the author uses animals to tell Santa, "Shhh"and the house he visits has a cat, dog and then a kitten. Big deal? No. I just always think to myself "That's kinda odd and just doesn't sit right with me". Overall, cute read.
I have a pop-up version. Funny story about an extremely loud Santa. Holland is transfixed by this pop-up story. She loves Santa and his sleigh that pops up when it misses landing on the roof. The story is concise and fun to read. I will change my rating from 4 to 5. I enjoy it even more reading it to my little one!
This was a really cute Christmas book for my 2-year-old little guy. He enjoys all of the ruckus that Santa gets into on Christmas Eve while trying to deliver presents and all of the animals/snowmen that tell him to "shhh!" so that he doesn't wake the children. We liked it!
A cute story about Santa being so excited for Christmas that he keeps making too much noise. The animals keep reminding him to be qiet so he won't wake the children, and luckily, he doesn't.
