"When a psycho wants to make a statement, and nobody gets it, he's only going to say it louder the next time."Jenna thought spending her summer in Somerset would be quiet and relaxing. With classes over and the students home on break, the campus is a ghost town. But the summer is not chock-full of R & R. In fact, her latest case at the medical examiner's office is anything but quiet.

A psycho killer is on a rampage, drowning the victims in Boston's most public places. It seems "everyone" is talking about the murders, yet no one has any leads.

Then Jenna uncovers a key piece of evidence, and she is quickly drawn into the puzzle. But the closer they get to the killer, the more frequent -- and more violent -- the drownings become. And before Jenna realizes how deep in she's gotten, it's suddenly sink or swim time for her...literally.

Last Breath is a thriller novel written by Christopher Golden. This is a breathtaking story that will transform your view on the depths of horror. This book innovates the level of thrill and it will leave chills on your spine for every chapter you read. It starts out a little slow paced, and as a major horror genre fan I want to be involved in the action and sucked into the story-line. Once the story falls in place you will be excited and wanting more thrills around every corner. The story involves a new twist on portraying horror. This is done through the use of mysterious x-rays all around a hospital located in a ghost town. Just envisioning the x-rays and the view of the character, I feel as if I'm in the story viewing each and every scene as if it were a movie. Description is where this book succeeds. When someone is to tell a thriller story, it will be convincing based on how the author sets up the description. Each detail paints a picture that remains in your head after you read the story. One major problem is that the setup of the character and the setting wasn't all that unique. Like most thriller stories you will return in a ghost town, with some character who had just got on break expecting a great summer that would turn out to become a nightmare. This is used in movies and books way to often and this story would be solid if they went for a different introduction or setup. The writing style is great as dialogue and description/action fit well together and flow throughout the story. Overall I would rate this book a four out of five stars for a solid innovative climax and story, but a weak setup/introduction. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves thriller or horror books. I would also recommend this to anyone who loves mysteries, especially murder mysteries such as Agatha Christie books.

This book is absolutely amazing! I was completely stunned by the big twist in the ending. I believe that anyone who likes suspenseful and mystrery books, would love this story. If anyone's up for a twist, this would be perfect twist.

Good book. The only part I didn't like about the book is the fact that I could've watch an episode like that on tv. When will there be original characters?

I'm a big fan of this series. The Boston/New England inaccuracy is sometimes infuriating, but the story makes up for it.

Being an assistant for an ME and a college freshman can be daunting, but never monotonous for Jenna Blake. Dead bodies and mysteries galore.
