Evelyn Eaton writes with such grace about the Native American traditions she was adopted into. It is a respectful, beautiful look at a different way of relating to the earth and spirit. It reminded me that 'listening' isn't just about hearing words. It is about sensing the life in everything around me. It is about being open to listening.

A wonderful and important book. Eaton has a lot to share with non-Natives about the indigenous peoples and their religion and culture of the Owens Valley (California). One of my favorite books.
