This was such a great book. I work Abe's grand-daughter and this book was given to me as a christmas gift. It was an inspiring story or survival.

Currently, I am reading this book and have yet to finish it and simply said I am loving it. The way Korn adds detail to his writing really intrigues me as a reader given the fact that I wasn't alive during this period of time and I don't have a full understanding of what was happening. Of course, there's the internet and I can do my research, but this book really allows me to understand what these people really went through. It sickens me to hear about the conditions that they were put through. The way author includes the details of how the Germans came to his town, looking for Jewish residents. Or how he includes that since he looked polish the Germans didn't think much about him makes me think about all the other people who were experiencing similar things. Or the people who had it worse. The book is definitely a recommend for someone who is looking for some WW2 history.

This story was given to me by my high school history teacher who I greatly admire and know if it’s from her library, it is going to be a great story. I read it very quickly and through teary eyes, finished. Wonderfully written and a must read for any fan of history or Christian. You can see as the story progresses and through all of the events, God had His hand on Abe. Thank you Mrs. Reeves for the rec!

This was an awesome story of survival and struggle through hardship. I live in the hometown where he lived. His son actually came to my middle school and talked to us about his father. It's a must read to those who don't understand the holocaust. (Parents: it is very graphic, but the truth can be ugly).

This book was heartbreakingly beautiful. The account of one man's struggle to live through 5 completely horrifying years as a Jew from Poland. His story was uplifting and humbling. Although a quick read, sometimes hard to get through.
