As a lifelong fan of my all-time favorite band, Guns N’ Roses, I found this book to be an absolute delight. It delves into the early days of the band, particularly through the inclusion of interviews that provide valuable insights into their mindset during that era. The book spans early 1985 to around 1988, covering a significant period in the band’s history. It effectively presents a comprehensive overview of the original five members and their personalities and contributions to the band.

Reading this book was like taking a nostalgic trip down memory lane. It captures the highs and lows of their early years, the success of their album Appetite for Destruction, and their iconic tour with Aerosmith. It’s a must-read for any GNR fan. Paul Elliot’s interviews with the band members reveal their thoughts on fame and how they navigated the challenges that came with it during that time. It’s short, sweet, and to the point.
