Propagation of Alpine Plants and Dwarf Bulbs

Rate this book
This guide is intended for use by rock gardeners of temperate regions in both hemispheres, and covers both alpine plants and dwarf bulbs. Methods of propagation are described in detail, with illustrations emphasizing important points. Timing is given by season rather than by month to cater for a range of temperature zones. There is also a section devoted to the propagation of dwarf bulbs with additional information on their cultivation. The main part of this book comprises an alphabetical list of more than 1000 genera of plants which may be grown on rock gardens. Many of these are common, some rare, and there are several new or recent introductions. Each entry details the plant's family and habits, and there is also a hardiness key and comments on behaviour and methods of propagation.
