Akila Jones thought it was best to walk away from the life she has known for years and the man of her dreams. Unbeknownst to her, evil was lurking around and ready to snatch her freedom up. This young woman will be faced with the toughest battle of her life. With her life turned upside down and no one to turn to, she will run back into the arms of the man that she was trying desperately to get away from. Is she willing to give love one last try, even if it means getting in bed with the devil?
After losing his brother, Mari vows to get the people that are responsible for his death. No one is safe, and this young killer is in savage mode. He becomes oblivious that money can’t buy loyalty, and if you don’t feed your dogs, they’ll soon start eating off your plate. It was only a matter of time before death came knocking on his door, and karma paid him a visit.
Akila and Mari are in a fight for their lives. Will they fold under pressure, or will the bond they shared be enough to help them escape death?
One lesson Akila should have learned a long time ago. Is that. You never tell another woman all of your personal business. It doesn't matter if it is family, friend, or foe. She missed that memo though because her cousin Claire turned out to be grimy as hell. Claire had a agenda from the beginning. Jealousy fueled her to stoop low and stab Akila in the back. While dealing with her mooching and trifling ass cousin. Akila was fighting her feelings for Mari and trying to stay out of Tyrone way because he turned out to be the opp. Mari judgment in women are trash. Akila was the only one he had dealt with who had his back although he didn't deserve it because of how dirty he done her. Mari was cocky, arrogant, and selfish. He thought with his lower head. That's why he was able to get caught up. Shonda thought she was the next in line to be his woman but he shut that down which lead her to becoming a snake. It seems all the wrong Mari done caught up to him in the end.

"Ridin' For A VA Hitta 2" by Racquel Williams
My Rationalization:
What a suspenseful read where betrayals, drama, murder, jealousy were all over the place where the reader will never cease to be amazed by all that goes on in this series. I guess there is nothing like having a crazy ex-boyfriend and a jealous cousin as it was for Akila. I will say by the end of this story, it may have been quite a bittersweet read but yes passion was there for this heroine in the end. I found the characters over the top some more than others! This was really one interesting read in how this story ended.
Ow wow I did not see that ending like that. I was rooting for Mari and Akila to get back together and work it out. Akila put her trust into people to get hurt in the long run. Her cousin was suppose to be there for support yet she went behind Akila’s back and slept with her man. So Claire got what she deserved but Shonda got lucky. It was good she put her differences to the side and came to give that bag to Kila for Mari. After everything was said and done Akila will be able to start over fresh with her baby but without the father. Mari had plenty chances to make things right yet he was still being greedy and in the end cost him his life. Dope series!
Akila finally had enough and got away from Mari. Sadly hurt, betrayal and murder surround her. Upon her finding out she's pregnant. Shonda just couldn't get the jealousy out of herself. Someone needed to knock her down a couple of notches. Claire's the truth definition of, DIRTY!! To betray a member of your family and knowingly do it. Karma got the behind good. Mari just couldn't get right and he cheated death a few times. Seems like the sacrifice he made for is family was his due diligence.
Hunny this book was soo good omg I cant believe they got mari like that and kila cousin is so trifling I'm glad she went out cause she was the worst shonda is trifling to mari was definitely putting the pipe down on them I'm glad at the end kila was able to get away from all the drama she been through...this was too good definitely recommend this book
I enjoyed the book from beginning to end. The storyline was very good and I definitely can relate to locations. I know it has to be a 3rd book because the ending left too big of a cliffhanger for Mari to go out like that 🤔. Even though the book was worth 5 stars I have to say the editors/proofreaders didn't earn their keep....too many errors.
I’m happy with how this series ended . I like the fact that even though the ending was bittersweet that the passion was still there . Enjoyed the characters I knew that Claire was going to be trouble . Mari Well I never really cared for him but he kept the book interesting.
Just as I expected a awesome wonderful book. Akila is my girl and I wanted to kick Claire butt. I need a part 3. Racquel knows she is fire and I wanted for part 2. Racquel is one of my favs. Oh yeah I need a part 3....
It was a great read. Most definitely kept the drama up. Mari needed to slow down. I felt for Kila tho she most definitely went thru a lot in this series. Racquel has done it again. Great job
This one author you can always count on to write the stuff. Pt 2 was great. Ups and downs for Kila everybody played her. No spoiler alert but glad Mari finally came through. Everything about this book was on point. Must read!!!
Kila. Man she has flipped the script.. She really went into a rage.. I felt sooo bad for her.. And poor Mari I didn't see that coming at all. Great story and I can't wait to read the next one..
Oh the suspense, the betrayal runs deep and thugs and cowboys still are the master manipulators. This series is a banger. One click for that thug empire rise and fall or did it?
