My Ratings
5 Stars-The book made it into my heart and if I had to make a top 50 list of all time this book would shimmy its way in.
4 Stars- I loved the book, it was amazing. However, it's not on the elite 'favorite of all time' list.
3 Stars- This is the broadest category. I liked the book all the way to it was average. This should be a 2.5 to 3.5 section.
2 Stars- I read the book all the way through but did not like it.
1 Star- I only give a 1 if I can't finish the book because I dislike it so much. There are a few reasons for DNF. Poor plot line, poor grammar and/or spelling, or maybe just a subject I don't care for.
I DO ROUND UP!

3.75 Stars. If you follow my reviews, it’s hard to miss what a big fan I am of Aten’s books. She writes the kind of books I want to read and I love the variety of genres she writes in. This is the second book in her Blood Resonance series which are paranormal erotic-romance books. I do have to admit this series is not my favorite by Aten but I did think this book was better than book one, Running From Forever .

This is a story about a group of vampires, werewolves, and humans trying to make their new relationships work with everyday life issues and problems only supernaturals could have. Those problems include danger when their human friends and families fall prey to the monsters that go bump in the night. Because this is a sequel, I want to be extra cautious not to spoil anything so I’m keeping this summary very vague on purpose.

While I always suggest reading book in order, I do think you could start here if you really wanted or needed to. You would be missing out on how two couples came together and what attracted them to each other. However, Aten was good at slowly weaving in the important factors from book one so you could catch up enough that starting here would be possible.

Erotic-romances are not always my favorite because I find they can be a little vague on plot with just a lot of sex. I’m happy to say that this is what I hope to read in erotic-romances. This had a good storyline that even included a little mystery and excitement, but also plenty of steamy and erotic sex scenes. And while there is a good amount of sex scenes, Aten is good at mixing them up so they don’t feel repetitive. While most of the sex scenes are F-F there is one very steamy F-F-F scene too.

While I can’t put this in my favorite Aten pile, this was a fun read especially right around Halloween time. If you are a fan of vampires and werewolves and looking to spice up your night a little, I think this is a good choice. Aten is an excellent author and storyteller and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next.

An ARC was given to me for a honest review.

Noble and the Colby sisters are back in Book 2 of K. Aten‘s very promising debut urban fantasy series, Blood Resonance! Book 1, “Running From Forever,” (my commentary here if you’re interested) was highly entertaining and enjoyable and I’m a big urban fantasy fan especially of the vamp-were kind. So, I was curious about what story Aten had in-store for Noble & Gang in the sequel, or as I’d like to dub them, “The Lesbian Vamp-Were Scooby Doo gang!” Well, as usual, Aten didn’t disappoint.

In this sequel, besides Noble and Sarah (Colby), Book 1’s MCs, Aten expanded the roles of 3 secondary characters from it, namely Sarah’s sister, Annie, her ex and BFF, Jill, and Louve, Noble’s oldest and closest mate, the Alpha of her French werewolf pack, who part-owned Cirque du Loup aka The Wolf’s Circus and…had a summin’-summin’ (*wink-wink*) with Noble and Sarah in Book 1 (read it and you’ll know what I mean!). Anyway, the plot this time revolved around the were/vamp family, so to speak. So, it’s a “family affair,” essentially. Without revealing anything, just know that with Aten’s brilliant writing style, plot structure and story development, you’d want to read it to follow the breadcrumbs plus all the humour, the always-engaging conversational dialogue, not to mention, the ever-delish romance mixed in it!

I was graciously given a copy of 'Embracing Forever' by K. Aten in exchange for an honest review.

My love for Vampires just keeps growing stronger the more I read about them. I've been drawn and attracted to them ever since I was a child. As for my love for werewolves, that's a new development that started a few years ago, and this book only heightened my fascination with both creatures.

I read the first book last year and kicked myself in the bum for taking so long to read it. WOW! was my first thought after I read it. The sequel was no different. I enjoyed catching up with Keller, Sarah, Jesse, and Annie. The last book ended with Jesse as a new-born were, not really giving us a chance to get to know her as a werewolf/human. Jesse was probably a favourite of mine because she was incredibly sweet and her geeky innocence was so endearing, I felt no different this time around. Keller and Sarah's sexual appetite was just as present this time if not more in this story. Aten creates erotic scenes that leaves you just as satisfied as her characters. We got to meet some new characters this time around, and my favourite new character was Jill, Sarah's long time, ex-girlfriend. I didn't feel anything towards her in the beginning but she quickly grew on me, and I admired the way she handled herself in the less than desirable situation she was forced into. Every new curveball or speedbump that was either hurled at her or approached, she seemed to take it in stride. She was the perfect balance against the sometimes hot-headed Sarah. All the characters made this humorous dark erotica shine.

I admire Aten for the way she made me feel like I was right there in all the action, particularly towards all the music scenes. I love music, it fuels me, drives me, and inspires my own writing, and I had chills during some of those scenes. I especially enjoyed the charity concert, Aten took advantage and used the side characters to add more depth and richness to that whole fun scene.

Other than a few editing mistakes, I rate this a solid 4, and I recommend to anyone who loves Vampires, Werewolves, and hot, hot "chemistry"

Intense!

Sisters, Sarah and Annie discover they stand to lose everything if they don’t work out who is running around the town causing heartache and attacking the people. With Noble by their side, they have to decipher the clues, protect those that are threatened by attack. Together they have to endure some harrowing things and make difficult decisions to save friends and loved ones without highlighting that they are different. When things take a devastating turn for a friend, they have to step in to save her life, and finally when Annie’s life is threatened daring actions have to be taken.

Sarah and Noble are back with her sister Annie in another exciting adventure about love, monsters, and mystery. The first book in the series set the story up for the sequel quite nicely, and if you haven’t read it you would benefit from doing so before delving into this story. I adored being back in the exciting world of music and mayhem that surrounds this supernatural couple and their family. If vampires and werewolves are your thing, then this will be a real treat for you as it has everything you could ever want, romance and mystery.

I didn’t know what to expect from a sequel in this series but I was pleasantly surprised to find it had a great balance between all of the main characters again, and it kept true to its paranormal roots. There was no whirlwind romance getting in the way of the mystery surrounding the dangers presented to all the characters. The romances featured very much sit in line with the main story as an underlying arc that helps to drive the story forward, but the main story focuses on the threats to their happiness and futures, and it’s a long one that they face.

I thoroughly enjoyed returning to their story and uncovering the clues with them. There were emotional times, happy times, and proper rock out moments that built a fascinating and interesting story which has also left room for more in the future, so I hope we will see them all again soon!

Gotta Love Fuzzy Nerds!
Sarah, Keller and the rest are back in this fantastic follow up to Running From Forever (Blood Resonance Book One 1). The women are facing new and more dangerous situations, someone is threatening those the vampires love most and there is a killer on the loose. It’s up to the lovers and Louve’s pack to keep Annie and Jessie safe and stop the killing before everyone is discovered.

This book is even better than the first and that is saying a LOT!!! The writing is perfect, the plot exciting, the characters awesome and this one even has some comedic moments that are a hoot and a half!! The story is full of action and intrigue, love of all sorts, old friends and new and of course all the lovely sexy bits we have come to expect… (Even another HOT threesome!) There are plot twists that will leave you guessing and then dropping your jaw in disbelief. I loved spending time with these women, they feel like friends and I have missed them and was happy to see their little family grow. This whole book was a joy to read and I was so sorry to see it come to an end. I will miss these incredible ladies!

Every time this author breathes life into a new literary masterpiece, she always manages to leave me speechless and craving more of her awesome writing! I love all things paranormal and supernatural and this story hit all the right spots and I got everything I have ever wanted from a story because I got non-stop action, sizzling sex scenes, relationship drama coupled with a healthy dose of laugh-out-loud moments between Keller, Sarah, Jill, Jessie and Annie. I got completely wrapped up in Sarah and Keller's unbreakable bond and I've gotta admit that there were a few times where I wished that I could have met Keller in person because I wouldn't mind being one of her forever wives! I know this story was just released but I'm keeping my fingers crossed with the hope that a sequel will be on the horizon soon.

Better than book 1

Solid world building and decent plot. A fun and spicy read overall but a little too predictable.

Not amazing but an overall enjoyable read and an interesting take on supernatural beings.
