The Endless Mountain Series is a series of three stand-alone books that can be read alone or as a series. While the characters from the first book are mentioned in the second and third books, they do not need to be read in order to understand the individual stories.

In this story you will meet Claudia and Dawson who were neighbors as kids but whom God causes there paths to cross again as young adults. And while Dawson remembers Claudia as being that annoying neighbor girl who followed him everywhere, he doesn't think that anymore, instead he is definitely interested now. You will get to know them as you see a romance blossoming between them. What I particularly liked was that they are both committed to honoring God even in their relationship. This makes this story more than just a heartwarming tale of boy meets girl as the author vividly reveals their struggles in life as they seek to honor God in all they do. Additionally, a serial killer is in town and is stalking Claudia and you as the reader are constantly wondering when he will come after the object of his affection. Another element that I loved about this story was that Claudia is portrayed as both feminine and tough. So get a copy and find out if this romantic interest develops into anything substantial and prepare for the suspenseful moments of wondering when the killer will strike.
Having just finished listening to this audiobook, it seems to me that the underlying theme in this series is kidnapping and in this particular story there is a buildup of various murders which are being committed and just who this murderer is is a total shock! I certainly never saw it coming! The suspense is very strong and the way in which Claudia and her beau, Dawson deal with this makes this story into a interesting 'page-turner' which I really enjoyed and can recommend. There are moments of great joy and some of real sadness and these emotions help make this a tale one can relate to. Megan Lott narrated both the first and this second story and did a good job with both of them. I requested and listened to an audiobook version and my voluntary review above is unbiased.
Claudia, written by Elle E. Kay, is book 2 of Endless Mountain Series. I really enjoyed this continued story of this family. My favorite character is Dawson. What a guy! The kind that any mother would wish for their daughter. I enjoyed the suspense that seemed to be increased at the turn of every page. I felt that I could set the area in which Claudia lived both in the city and when she visited in the country. The sights and sounds were written great! It a balanced amount of suspense and romance. Neither were overdone and all were done in good taste. A great addition to the series! I was gifted a copy of this book by the publisher. All thoughts and comments are my own.
Claudia is written by Elle E Kay and is the second book in this series. I was gifted this book by the author when I told her how much I enjoyed the first book, Stella. Claudia is Stella's younger sister. This is her story altho' Stella plays a part in it, with a bit of mystery going on in the background. Who is killing young women while Claudia is falling in love? When her art teacher is arrested Claudia thinks the fear is ended.
I found this book through Bookbub and thought the plot looked interesting so, I downloaded it.
I don't know how to begin this review. 🙃
Generally speaking I liked the book. Me giving it a 3.5 means I consider it a good book, but I had some issues with certain things.
Firstly, I felt that the story didn't exactly have a very firm foundation or introduction. Of course, this is not necessarily a bad thing because you get drag right into the main issue, but I would have liked a little bit more of a backbone to the story.
The romance was not bad, but since I couldn't exactly tell if a lot of time had gone by after Claudia's broken relationship before she got into another one with Dawson, I had the feeling that all the relationship seemed rushed. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed how Dawson tried being such a gentleman and the commitment they made with God to preserve themselves up until marriage. This was beautiful.💖
Regarding the serial killer issue, you do get intrigued since you don't exactly get a lot of exposure to the character and you kind of have to wait till the end for the climax to take place and to figure out the killers identity...., but I have to admit I was expecting a little bit more for the ending since the author had been building up the tension since the beginning of the book. 😔
Because all of this I was planning on giving the book a lower rating, but the faith content and the lesson of loss, grief and how we should treasure each and every moment with our loved ones certainly got to me. We see the main characters exercising and sharing their faith.
Having said this, I am not thrilled to get into another book by this author, but I am not closed up to the idea. I'll have to wait and see.
This story has everything: drama, danger, heartbreak, and romance. Claudia and Dawson have their struggles, but they are sure of their love. The plot keeps twisting, presenting new developments and complications. This book will appeal to those who enjoy stories of faith in the midst of trials. It's a great story.
What a beautifully written book. I felt like I was living everything at the same time Claudia did. The message of our loving savior was so real and beautifully written. I'm looking forward to reading more books by Elle E. Kay.
Elle E.Kay nailed it ! Great suspense, characters, edge of your seat situations. Faith based with good christian message. I received this series for free and I'm freely giving an honest review. Don't miss this series !
This book was full of mystery and suspense. The ending was unique...in fact I loved the ending. It was a complete surprise, and I love that kind of book.
Claudia is a breathless, page-turning suspense novel that is action packed. The story started off with a bang and rarely lets up before the end. There were several plot twists that kept me guessing as to who the killer was. (I didn’t get it right!). The description is vivid, allowing me to see and smell the forest surrounding the cabin and experience the sometime heart-stopping events. Both Claudia and Dawson grow and develop as the book progresses, and I found both to be very likeable – in fact, Dawson was a nice mixture of sensitive yet masculine – a knight in shining armor. A few of the transitions were sudden which I found a little distracting, and an event occurs near the end that seemed dropped into the book and forced rather than part of the story, but that may be my personal taste. The writing is tight, and the dialogue is realistic. Periodic chapters from the villain’s point of view added intrigue and just the right amount of creepy. The case involves a serial killer, and there are descriptions of violence in the book, but they are not graphic.
I received the book for free from the author, and a positive review was not required. All opinions expressed are my own.
This is an action-filled novel about trusting God in even the toughest circumstances.
Life hurls Claudia into one challenge after another: from a boyfriend’s betrayal, to false accusations, to threats to her life. She can only lean on God to help her navigate the pain and learn to embrace love.
I enjoyed getting to know the characters and their struggles. My only critique is that there was a little too much tragedy packed into this one story. I realize that, in real life, bad situations can come in an avalanche. However, I felt that in the short span of this novel, too many serious events happened to be handled with the proper gravity. But overall, I liked the action and solid Christian message.
Claudia is an easy to read romantic suspense and the perfect way to dip into the genre if it’s new to you. The story has enough suspense to keep you on your toes, but not enough to give you nightmares or rob you of a night’s sleep. This short novel also contains a ‘boy/girl next-door romance. The character of Dawson was a sweet, strong type, a rock for Claudia as she faces not only the threats on her life, but also the unexpected family tragedy. Claudia’s faith in God strengthens as she trusts in his protection. The scenes are short and the story jumps around a bit, but the author did well at keeping the villains identity hidden until the very end.
I listened to this one through Audible. It was entertaining while I completed some household tasks and certainly held my attention. There were times when I was rolling my eyes at some of the scenarios and choices seemingly intelligent characters made but overall I enjoyed the book. I may
Characters who try to live their Christian faith are caught in a frightening and dangerous situation as they are falling in love. A must-keep-reading story.
