But Sam is about to find out that she's not the only one who's been keeping secrets. Discovering the truth of her heritage leads her on an adventure that will test her inner strength and challenge her view of the world.

Sam’s guys may be rough around the edges, give off dangerous vibes, and have dark pasts - but these are the guys you want on your team when the world around you is falling apart. Sam is going to find out that her time in the Marines may have prepared her for war, but these guys are going to push her further than she’d ever thought she’d go... and in a direction she hadn’t expected.

Everyone has dark moments in their life that we sometimes wish we could erase or forget. But sometimes it's the pain and struggle that we have gone through that gave us our inner strength.

For me, writing started as a way to confront some of the demons of my past so that I could put them behind me forever. Most of my characters have a dark or troubled past and my books follow their progress as they emerge from the darkness that has held them down for so long.

As the darkness fades, hope for a better future starts to emerge (like the sun after a storm). A piece of my soul goes into each one of my books, and my hope and faith in a brighter tomorrow is reflected in each one of my characters.

Books have always been a source of escape and enjoyment for me, so I hope that my work can help others in the same way:-)

I have to be honest and say the only reason that I gave this book two stars was because I actually do appreciate the author.

Now the reason why I only gave a two stars was because this book touches way too much of books five and six.

If you're going to write someone else's origin story then make it about them and only them.

I understand that Anna played a part in getting Travis back but maybe we could have I don't know written that a little bit differently and not exposed so much of Anna's story in book 6.

It honestly drove me absolutely insane. I kept having to stop reading this book and then going and reading book 5 and then coming back to this book and then stopping and reading books six you get my point here right?

I cannot stand books like this. So that's why it only got two stars.

Lol, so I wrote this (I don’t know that I can plausibly call
It a review) while I was reading. So think less review & more my disjointed thoughts while reading.

***SPOILERS***
Alright, so the majority of Sam’s story is repetitive of the original storyline, just told from Sam & the pack’s secondary team’s POV. Which was actually fine, because Sam & her men are more secondary characters so it was different enough not to be annoying while giving some insight about things that were glossed over in the first POV.
That is until around 65% where new material starts to surface & whereas re-reading the narrative through secondary characters was fulfilling, reading new material through secondary characters is GOD fucking awful! Half of the information is left out. The information comes out as a story or explanation instead of just POV so it’s summarized- poorly might I add. It’s basically like reading a heavily redacted report & I would NOT recommend.
The only reason I’m not completely annoyed & done is because I know the next Anna book is out & waiting for me, so it should be easy enough to catch up. Though, it honestly might have been better to cut off Sam’s book when we caught up to the current time line.
As for the actual Sam book itself. I did like Sam- I always love a badass heroine, but my complaint was that all her men in her sextuplet were completely interchangeable & I could not tell any of them apart with distinctive personality traits. Which is a shame too because this was sooo well done in Anna’s book. Granted, there was a lot more source material to accomplish that, but still- the author even took the damn time to individualize the identical twins, but couldn’t manage to do so for Sam’s men?
Also, WTF was the matter with James in this book? Did not like him abusing his alpha powers here!!
Lastly, I’m afraid I’m not going to be liking the last few books of the series if Sam’s book is anything to go by- it looks like the author is trying to do too much. Cram too much in- it feels busy & overwhelming already & I haven’t even started.

I’m confused about all this half-breed Fae hate/prejudice directed towards Anna & Sam. Didn’t we already establish in the last book that ALL the shifters were Fae descendants?????

Thoughts in regards to the Jaguar Goddess-
Okay, Alright there miss judgey judger pants!!! That is an awful lot of condemnation I’m hearing from the Marine who had absolutely no problem killing Muslims in the Afghanistan war that every-freaking-body knows we had no damn business sticking our noses into to begin with!!! Not to even mention the wolves you killed even though you knew they were being controlled by the Fae.
Why do you suddenly get to decide who is innocent?

Another unique chapter in the Seaside Wolfpack series. I am thrilled Masters finally wrote Sam’s book. Sam is a strong female Marine who has a past history of family issues. Masters explores Sam’s life, her determination and her grit. She shows Sam as a strong, fierce woman ready to handle whatever challenges are thrown at her. Master’s broaches the tough subject of combat PTSD and survivor’s guilt in a delicate yet insightful way. I, for one, am excited to experience Sam and her teams next adventure.

Started off a little slow for me with the Prologue delving in to how Sam ended up meeting Anna. I did love the unique insights from another point of view for a series I already love. I was worried it was going to be the Seaside books just from Sam's view and it was in part but we also finally learned all about Sam and what her story is. Lots of action, some steamy scenes and a little heartbreak. Overall great book!

*I was given a copy of this book for an hones review*

I missed these characters so much. And I am so happy that we've got to read Sam's story. She and her boys intrigued me so much while reading Anna's books.
I love how Ms. Masters has managed to effortlessly intertwine the two stories and give us a huge piece of the puzzle.
This was full of action, humor, pain, romance, it had everything and more.
Now I can't wait for more, because clearly shit just hit the fan and we are in for a helluva entertainment.

Well, I wasn't sure at first, if I want to read that book. I wanted to read straight through Anna's story. But I don't like the feeling, that I might leave out important parts. And I was curious about Sam and her Jaguar heritage.

At least, I can't say I regretted reading it. It was interesting to see Sam's perception and the different POV's of the events. And some insight of her life and her men. In Anna's story, Sam is only a side-character, like her guys. So, we got hints, but don't get it all.

A really good side story and maybe there will be more?

I enjoyed this book so much. Getting to know more about Sam and then her men. Also, added more information to the world that Anna is in. This is just such an amazing companion spin-oof to the Seaside Pack that I couldn't be more happy with it. There were some slow parts, but everything else really made up for that. Sam is such a badass.

Love that we get to learn more about Sam! Her men are delish and I can't wait to know more. The book was a good balance of giving a backstory but also a good segway into more. Sam's story is definitely not done so I am looking forward to more!

Great series

This story just keeps getting more intense all the time. The characters grow more interesting as each book reveals more about them. I'll be starting the next one right now.

I'm sure missing this book would leave questions in the next. However, it seemed hurried and rushed as if things were missing. I am not counting the gaps from this book taking place during the previous.

It was nice to have Sam's perspective and follow her journey. I wondered what was going on with this team - and now I have a better idea! The Jaguar culture and subplots are a nice addition. The stage has been set for some big action!

Well worth the wait. Sam became part of Seaside when Anna covered for her in a military hospital. Now we get to see how they met and so much more from Sam’s POV. There was so much that happened in this side adventure from the Seaside Pack’s journey. It was totally unique and gave a lot of context and information on Sam’s past while enriched with mythology’s unique to the Jaguar shifters. A few new mysteries and new challenges were unveiled in this novel as well. The magic of the Seaside novels encompassed this book as we follow Sam through the events from her deployment to brewing war on the horizon.

*This is book 5.5 in the series*
