Reading has always been one of my favorite hobbies, even as a little girl. When I was a toddler, my parents would read stories to me over and over. I would hear them so often that I had the books memorized and could recite the story word by word.

My favorite genres are fantasy, paranormal, and contemporary romance. So of course that's what I'm inclined to write.

I have a husband, two young daughters, and a mini Australian Shepherd. I've lived in Tennessee the majority of my life and love the state.

I'm extremely addicted to caffeine and enjoy drinking coffee and lattes.

The second book in this series does not disappoint. Once you start reading it you will be drawn right in and won't be able to stop until the very end. The characters and storyline are are so well written that you can't help but feel like you are part of it.

Kingdom of Shadows is here and you better buckle up and settle in because this book brings it! Where the first book had a slower pace, this book kicks things in gear and builds not just the suspense but the romance element as well.
Kingdom of Shadows is book two in Jen L. Grey's Amaria Stones spin-off series and I like that this addition has more going for it than the first. The author picks up around the same time as the first book left off, but some time has passed. Cinder, Fury, and the others are all too aware of the fact that they are essentially trapped in this cave/cavern system with the Seer. They need to find a way out, but the question soon arises...what is the Seer's end game?
I enjoyed this book more than the first. This book grabbed me and pulled me as the pace speeds up and the situations became more riveting. We're seeing the true colors of Joash and I'm ready for someone to bring him down to the ground already. LOL! I can't stand his arrogance and how he thinks that the world should be his. I absolutely love that we get a taste of backstory concerning the history of the kingdom, but as the storyline shifts I can't help but question more things that are now becoming a major tangled web. What can we believe? How much is true? What's going to happen next?
The romance speeds up significantly in this story as well. I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, I can understand it and appreciate how it fuels the storyline and the characters. It's necessary to build their bond, but then my concern arises...are they being manipulated? I love the suspense that the author writes into this book. It keeps me page-turning and wanting to know what is going to happen next. Now! For those who HATE cliffhangers...not me of course, but...there is one. A HUGE one! The author says "The End" but I'm going with...there WILL be more. LOL! There has to be. So just hang in there.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. The story is coming together and I'm beyond eager for more in this branch off of the Amaria Stones. I just hope that the story begins to tie to the stones more as they have not been distinctly identified. But this book is absolutely a huge improvement on the first book and I'm eager for more.

A lightning fast read with two people teaching each other something about leadership and sacrifice, and a whole mount of trouble waiting for them.
Cinder and Fury have been trapped in the volcano together by her peers, officially to get some education from the ancient Seer, but it's clear the old hag follows her own agenda. When they are sent down on a mission, the unexpected meets them, and the dangers are pushing the heirs to solidify their mating bond before it gets too late.
Interesting read, set up in the world of Amaria. I have already read another book series set in the same world, yet the two series can't be more different. Each of them unique, the world and the gems are the only connection; each story lives on its own. I really like watching Cinder and Fury deal with their trials, overcoming the obstacles, and facing the dangers. Secrets are still being hold, yet i feel the time is about to come to unravel at least some of them. The appearance of the black phoenixes gave the book a specific feature, a push into curiosity and interest, and I for one would love to figure out the difference and the backstory that led to this situation.

A fun, fantasy serial that'll leave you hanging. It's like watching an episode of your favorite series as Cinder, Fury, and co. try to unravel the Seer's secrets and ensure Pyr's survival. For every piece of the puzzle revealed, another layer is introduced but unknown. I love the mystery and female supporting characters, but the depth of Cinder and Fury's bond hasn't resonated with me quite yet. While I'd have liked a little more story progression, I was still pleased by the morsels uncovered and the naturalness to the stopping point. I love the shared world and glimpsing the overarching politics at play. A quick, fast-paced read for fans of fantasy and interconnected serial reads.

I loved Cinder and Fury a lot in the first one and I love them even more in this one especially their mind bond. Reading these books make me happy because they are about phoenix shifter one of the most understated shifters to be written about. also the vividness of the story and the characters being trapped and wanting to be free of Lifetime Academy but to do that they need to be able to use their powers. the other characters are just great each one has its perfect place also I cant wait for the next book to see what happens next. That was a sweet but mysterious ending

This is book two in the series and definitely needs to be read in order. The relationships of all the Phoenix in the Lifetime Academy, are slowly building strength as they have to start trusting one another and their roles in saving Pyr. That trust and faith in one another is hard to accomplish due to the prejudice stories they were each given from their families of how the two sides formed.

Read to find out what Cinder, Fury and the rest of the academy have to endure to escape the Ancient Seer while also protecting Pyr. Expect building suspense and a few surprises along the way.

🔥Fury and Cinder 🔥

Kingdom of Shadows is turning out to be an awesome series! Two kingdoms at the brink of war. The only thing that might bring them together is two cross star ⭐️ lovers . They should be enemies and yet life fated them to be soul mates. Stuck together with friends and foes at a strange academy, they must learn to work together if they are to survive the trials and tasks the Seer gives them. Looks can be deceiving and im not sure what the Seer’s true intentions are. Cant wait for more! Read this with my kindle unlimited 💋

This was a great sequel to Kingdom Of Storms. Cinder and Fury and the other are sent on a task for the seer. Unsure of what to expect they find themselves in a dangerous situation where they have to rely upon other people they know nothing about during this time Cinder and Fury form the true mates bond of which they were unsure of until everything fell in to place around them I cant wait for the next book what an ending

I love that the characters are developing nicely, well some are... others need a shovel to the head. We learned some interesting things about the history of the split Kingdoms, and it was great watching bonds solidify while others are in their early stages. Definitely can’t wait to see what’s in store for book 3!

I am in love with this series. I think Cinder and Fury are some of my favorite characters this author has written. If you haven’t read these yet, you need too. Read them in order though. The relationships are growing. Cinder and fury with their mind bond, some people show their true colors and intentions. You’ll be angry with some. This series is a rollercoaster that I don’t want to get off of.

We learn a little more about everyone's personality and intentions. A unexpected history lesson about the two kingdoms. And a test from The Seer that leads to new and unexpected friendships and romance.
The characters and story line are developing nicely. Cant wait to see what happens with Fury and Cinder now that they are open to the bond

Kingdom of Shadows takes up right where the last book left off, which a lot of Jen L Grey's books do. It's a good thing too because Cinder and Fury and company are still trapped.... and we don't know what the Seer is going to do.
I'm not sure I'm sold on Joash though. I suppose we'll see more in the next book as this one also ends on a cliff hanger. I can't wait to read more in this universe.

And the mystery continues..

Wow!! True colors are shown in this installment. The team are sent on a unknown mission, only to find a new alliance. With the alliance, they also realize they need to keep a few secrets. Hopefully the bonds made will be enough to survive!

Well, there was certainly a lot of action in here! I gotta admit. I'm confused as all get out. What are the ulterior motives of the seer? What are the ulterior motives of the black phoenixes? What the heck was that stone?! Definitely need more answers lol so I will most certainly be reading more

Lots of action and some new characters are introduced. Cinder and Fury are getting closer. Story moves forward a little but not much. Feels like it is still being built for a big event. One sitting read for me.
