Just when I was thinking that I was going to read a book about a really smart woman who managed to move on and outdid the ex shit, I was wrong again.
He asks her to marry him, just to leave her and go after his dream. But wait, he loves her and is sorry he left! So, since he's really in love and sorry, he should not have sex with another woman the whole time he's out, right? But exactly what the piece of shit did !!!
And our heroine, I started to love, she suffered with ex leaving, but after three months suffering broke the stereotypes and went out having sex! (Go on girl !!) At that time met a rich, beautiful, wonderful man who understood her, then began dating (Yupiiiiii), but unfortunately the author has returned to the old pathetic pattern.
The ex shit comes back and the heroine forgives!
Yes, pathetic as always.
I'm just sitting here waiting for an author to write about authentic characters.

Perfect ending

I thought the last book in the series was my favourite. Pepper and Fynn both got the happy ending after all the obstacles they went through. I wasn’t a fan of Pepper when she was heartbroken of the loss of Fynn and I wished she didn’t go down that route. However the story was great overall even that it seemed a bit too long

This fourth installment breaks my heart. We knew that the love story of Finn and Pepper wasn’t meant to be, and that’s what we see as a culmination in this series. Finn, the nomad, was offered the job of a lifetime, going to run the Doctors without Borders program in Africa, meaning that he’d be away for a year, and then when that time was up, he’d get a job at the Mayo Clinic, the opportunity that would give him the career gig that he’s always wanted. He thought that Pepper would follow him anywhere – she proved the she supported his profession when he went to Florida to help the red cross for a month and was surprised when she wouldn’t bend here.

A month is one thing

A year is another

Uganda and Minnesota are not Seattle, and that means that Pepper will never be happy.

So they go their separate ways. The engagement is off. The relationship is off, and now they have to figure out what life looks like separately.

Pepper has decided that romance and love are not her future. She’s been in love and abandoned by everyone, Colton, Finn and even her birth mother so now she’s a player. All she wants to do is have meaningless relationships that never go longer than one night. Her friend are worried about her but they know that they can’t reason with her right now. Things change slightly one night when it’s really late and she’s alone in a bar, and a handsome, powerful, strong sexy man approaches her. The description that we get of him reminds us of Finn, but we know that this guy is the opposite of Finn. What starts as a one night stand turns into something else. She doesn’t realize who this guy is – Brutus…until her friends identify him based on his description. He’s a Billionaire and a man who can give Pepper what she needs. Mind you, she’s damaged and doesn’t want a relationship and she learns that he is as well, so they are in a good casual relationship together.

Brutus shows Pepper the world, takes her to Fiji, and makes her happier than she’s been in a while. There’s no talk of the future, but they know that the ‘now’ is what is in important.

Across the world, we watch how Finn is doing the job that he signed up for, but he’s miserable. He knows that he’s helping people that would never have the care he provides, but he’s empty. he knows that he made the wrong choice and he’s even attempted to talk to Colton about it, but no one in the states wants anything to do with him. He has a meaningless relationship with one of the doctors there because he doesn’t want to be alone, but he’s definitely not enjoying anything that the program should give him. Colton tells him that Pepper’s moved on, yet that’s not enough to get him to give up, and that’s where we know this story will go downhill.

Finn comes back to the states and wants to get Pepper back. Pepper is happy in her new situation with Brutus. He’s transformed her business so that she’s now making 3x as much money – and she’s got employees working for her so that she’s able to take time for herself. She’s working out with Stella now and she’s in the best shape of her life. Finn coming back will ruin all that.

The story from here is a roller coaster. Finn won’t give up his quest to win her back, but Brutus is a formidable opponent. A stupid one as well when he makes decisions that could push Pepper back to Finn if only she knew. That’s now how Finn is going to play things, so we watch Pepper and Brutus evolve their casual relationship into something deeper.

There’s a payout, a beating and a lot of lies and deception that bring this story to a close for those three and I think that the ending justifies the process.

The other story line that I really enjoyed here is the evolution of Colton and Tom. Colton deserves his own happiness too and now that he’s really comfortable with who he is and the relationship that he’s in now, it’s nice to see that there’s really something tangible there. It’s been over a year and they are still happy together and that means that their future is open to so many opportunities. We want to see him in his forever relationship, so it’s nice that this story shows us that side of things along with the complex and difficult story of Pepper.

I’m sad to see how this fourth installment ends, but it was even more traumatic to see how it began. The closure that we get warranted the journey that we went on and now it’s time to move on to something else

3.5 stars. This was a good ending to an up and down series. Its a shame the middle two books were so disappointing. There were very few sex scenes in this one (thank goodness - They are not well written) so not so many "massive/incredible load" comments.

I rated this 3.5 stars. The series wasn’t what I was expecting at all but I enjoyed it! It’s nice having mature characters and not an FMC who whinges all the time and blames the victim. That would have been such an easy way to go but she was strong mature and got on with life! If you want a love story without huge amounts of ridiculous drama it’s deffo one to pick up!

I’m not sure how this series has so many 5 star reviews. It was ridiculously long. The characters jerk each other around way too much. And I’m pretty sure they are all alcoholics.

Not my most favorite series but I was curious how it was going to end so I kept at it. The best thing about this last book was finally getting Finn’s POV. Thus far he was kept a secret so that was nice to finally see. I liked Pepper’s character and her relationship with Colton.

The Fighter was amazing!! I was an emotional wreck the entire time! As a result of such heartache, Pepper did a total 180 and became what disgusted her the most! She put up gigantic walls around herself and buried her pain deep within! E.L. shows us that the grass isn't always greener on the other side, and that sometimes when we think we know what we want, we are totally wrong! I was torn when Finn returned, not wanting her to risk it all for him to just crush her heart again. They were so good together though, the romantic within me wanted her to take him back! The author's twist though! - is there ever really a Mr. Perfect?! I didn't see it coming at all. I felt Brutus might be too good to be true, but kept waiting for Pepper to do something to ruin it. I love that she didn't just crush a kind man's heart to be back with Finn, but that it turned out that he wasn't good enough for her to begin with. I can't wait for the next series!!!

Mixed feelings.
I really enjoyed the first book but lost my enthusiasm by the end, which could have been completed in a 3 book series. Couldn't understand why Pepper would give Finn another chance. Finn is a selfish jerk, his brutal honesty from the first book soon wore off to reveal a bossy narcissist so couldn’t find any interest in them as a couple. Colton gave me whiplash with his attitude towards Finn and Brutus, rooting for one and then the other. I was hoping Pepper would end up with Brutus but then the author revealed him to be a possessive psychopath. Skimmed through the last 50%.

As suspected there is not a strong enough plot to last four books. The series is a 3 star rating overall but average, not the strongest of storylines - like why did Finn stay away for six months? The billionaire love interest offering him a billion pounds to leave - really? Unfortunately, it was obvious someone was gonna get hurt and push them back together. Overall I enjoyed the series but a bit of a stretch on facts and storyline content.

So good

Well this series as come to the end.....Would like to see Brutus in another book to find out his story and to see if he gets his comeuppance.
Loved Pepper she went through so much and Finn was definitely get soul mate, this series is definitely worth the read. It is definitely a slow burn but it does come together nicely.
This is the first series I have read but this author but it most certainly won't be the last..

Glad to see how things turned out, and I liked the ending. This series would have been stronger though if it was shorter. I wanted to see what would happen for the characters that I had grown to really like and care for, but it was too drawn out, repetitive and too expensive. I would have to seriously think about starting another series from this author.

These were eh books.

The storyline was ok but the use of the word because" was super distracting. There's something juvenile about the writing style that bugs me but i finished the series anyways...

This review references the entire 4 book series. First - the good. Enticing storyline with well crafted characters whose individual stories feed well into the overall relationship “mess”. However a couple of the author’s decisions in both character activity and some repetitive word choices diminished the readability as well as the rating given.

Most egregious was the turn in Brutus’ character toward psychosis. Example is the recounting of his previous marriage to Cassandra where anger and resentment would have logically given rise to such deviance yet he dealt with that event with apparent class. Further his brutal assault of Finn in the parking lot which even Finn mentioned would be recorded on parking lot cameras was stupid. It was ludicrous that a successful billionaire would attend the orchestrated beating of a romantic rival by four thugs he hired and think he’d (1) get off Scott free; and (2) that it would not be exposed to Pepper, thus destroying any hope of retaining the relationship.

As to word choices - I was continually cringed out by referring to Finn’s dog tags as a “necklace”. Kinda takes his macho factor down to zero. How about “neck chain” or simply “dog/military tags” as used briefly in one chapter. Just as cringe worthy was the insistent use of “load” when referencing Finn’s ejaculate. I’ve never read that term used before and it seemed the author was stunted in her sex scene dialogue.

Finally, Girl - get yourself a qualified copy editor. Some misspelled words but more often than not, properly spelled words (which would not be caught by spell checker) were simply typed in wrong and defeated the sentence meaning.

I loved this series. It should be read in order to really understand the characters. I have such a hangover, I never wanted it to end, but I had to find out what happened. Finn returns after realizing his mistake and fights for his one true love. Meanwhile, Pepper has struggled to move on, and is going down a distructive path until Brutus appears. Brutus, he has the perfect name which you will find out why, is just as scorned as Pepper and they begin to heal together. When Brutus thinks money can buy him what he wants, things really pick up. I really struggled along with Pepper. It could not have been easy for her to deal with Finn's return, her losses and wanting someone because she did not love them. Pepper really shined in this book. I loved the conclusion, but I still want more. I am just glad Pepper finally got her HEA.

Lia Langola and Michael Ferraiuolo are a wonderful narrating team. They have complimentary voices that keep the story flowing smoothly. Pepper's character was intricate this time, and Lia Langola brought her to life. I felt every struggle, every emotion and every tear shed because of Lia's narration. Her accent for Brutus was a great touch. Michael kept all the male characters distinct and consistent from book to book. His narration of Brutus was amazing. Brutus is the newest character and ambiguous. Michael was able to keep Brutus the wild card in the bunch through his narration. But once again, Michael brings Finn to life. I enjoyed this narration and always look forward to more from this team.

This is Book 4 of the Doctor Series.

This is the final book of the story of Colton, Pepper and Finn. Pepper is devastated, even if she was the one that broke her engagement to Finn. Finn is in Africa with Doctors Without Borders. Finn misses her like crazy. Colton is always there for Pepper, but Pepper is on a binge of one night stands without a care for them. Until one day Finn came home. He couldn't stand to be without her. By this time, Pepper is going out with a billionaire, Brutus, who don't love each other, but it's a comfortable relationship. From then on, there are things that happen that are very undesirable between Finn and Brutus. This is a very emotional book, with so much sadness. Then, there is the love between Finn and Pepper re-ignited. There is so much going on in this book. I love all three characters. It is very well written. Looking forward to reading more of E.L. Todd's books.

I greatly enjoyed this series, but I really could’ve used less from Colton’s POV and more from Finn’s. Also, I could’ve used less of Colton butting in and deciding what was best for Pepper and what she and Finn needed to know or not and lied about her moving on and having a bf. I agreed with Tom that they deserved to know the truth and make their own decisions. And I get why he was upset when he found out and Finn and Pepper, but I got really tired of him being a d!ck to Finn and talking about what Finn did wrong and Finn not being good enough, never mind he kept Pepper on his hook for 5 years while knowing he was gay. He has no room to talk and truly didn’t have a reason to be as upset as he was about Pepper and Finn. He kept calling her HIS wife, but they were divorced, so she wasn’t his wife anymore. It was also a little creepy how he always talked about how attractive his brother was.

So sad to see the end of Pepper and Finn infamous love story. All I can say is that I felt every emotions of all of Pepper friends and especially Pepper. You could really empathize where everyone angry and animosity was coming from. The unexpected conclusion wasn't what I expected but I'm so glad things work out the way they did. Finn truly came into his own and show great maturity and even Colton changes surprise me as well. My only complaint was how Pepper's dealt with her depression, I didn't care much for that side of her. But I also understand people deal with pain and suffering differently. Overall a beautiful ending to a amazing series with plenty of drama, lots of emotions, and of course steamy romance. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.

Wow wow, this book had emotions like a rollercoaster. One minute I’m in tears the next I’m shocked and then I’m laughing.
The story left in such a cliffhanger with the lover, you didn’t know if Finn and Pepper would ever get there, but along comes Brutus and my what a sneak he is.
The only one that saw right through him was Soldier and Finn
Pepper is caught up with her feelings and can’t admit to herself that she still Loves Finn even though the betrayal he did to her was torture for her. Can Brutus help her forget Finn, with Finn coming back we start to see the real Brutus and how deceitful he can be and when Finn is hurt it hurts Pepper so much she realises she can’t be without Finn, but can she trust him?
An amazing end to an amazing series. Absolutely love E.L Todd’s books. Seriously won’t be disappointed with this series.

The author did the wrong thing I’d dread she’d do in the beginning and put on a time jump. A rather long one to.
But I suppose the chain of events that happened, happened because of that very reason. Finn needed the epiphany to realise he truly didn’t want that life anymore.

I loved every aspect of the book.

I found myself rooting before Brutus for a while there.
Started saying a few things before he even did anything majorly wrong that was not ok

The only thing that I found irritating, was after Colton came out as gay. It was used as an identity, straight people wouldn’t do that. But it’s like we’re reminded every 5 minutes. If he’s gay, he’s gay. Doesn’t matter.
Just didn’t understand why he suddenly was supposed to have a great taste in clothes, unless he had it before.
Just found it stereotypical.

Here is my review for the all of the doctor series book. The first two books I really enjoyed, actually first of all, this is my first forbidden romance book I loved it so much. The sexual tension and hidden looks pepper and Finn gave each other was insane. It’s like them being taunted with a chocolate they could eat but desired so much. I loved how no one had a clue what was going on between the two of them, but felt like they had a connection. Colton was pissing me off throughout the whole series always micro managing Peppers relationship, like back off your gay now focus on yourself she ain’t yours anymore. Book 3 and 4 were alright but I wish Finn grovelled a bit more to win Pepper back, but I did love how Finn back off when she was with Bruce. Overall it was a good series .

So this is the final book in the Doctor Series. To say I was a bit hesitant after the way the Lover ended and knowing Finn had better find a way to redeem himself if that was even possible. This final book is full of twists and turns that were both unpredictable, happy, steamy and even funny at times. I don't want to give too much away in this review so it's gonna be kept kinda short to make sure there aren't any spoilers present. But this is a great new series from a very talented author! If you're looking for a new fun, steamy, sexy story that will keep you guessing with twists and turns try this series! I highly recommend it!

Woohoo!!!

OMG, happy tears. After book 3 I was drained. Stayed up half the night because I just had to read The Fighter. The last few days had me consumed with the need to see where Pepper and Finn would wind up. So happy! Finn pulled a horrible stunt at the end of book 3 and I didn’t think he could recover and redeem himself. I loved Finn, but when he crushed Pepper, I thought I might actually hate him. My emotions were all over the place here. Between Finn, Pepper and Brutus, it was a crazy twisty mess. Just gotta say that Karma is a bitch Brutus. Overall, I totally loved the entire series.

A great ending to a great series

I read all of the books in this series by EL Todd and enjoyed them all.
The characters are believable and have normal type reactions and interactions. They will make you love them, cheer for them & sometimes strongly dislike them but you will be engaged by & with all of them.
The intimate scenes are descriptive (& should have you tightening up in some places) but not raunchy. My only comment is that I don’t know how one woman manages to find all those well endowed guys.
All of the books in the series will pull you in, keep you intrigued and tug at various emotions. And, after all, isn’t that what a good read should do?

The conclusion of this series was unexpected but in such a good way. Finn character truly became a mature man. Even Colton showed maturity in his character. At first, Pepper's way of dealing with her depression had me a bit upset; however people all deal with things in different ways.

This novel is a page-turner and will have your emotions are mixed up.

I am now a fan of E L Todd's books for sure as I thoroughly enjoyed this series!

Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Happily Ever After, Page-turner, Romantic, Tear-jerker, Unpredictable, Wonderful characters

It's here, the final book in the Doctor series by E.L. Todd and it's a fantastic ending to the series.

Pepper's story is an unexpected one from start to finish. And after the ending of the last book, I was left wondering if Pepper would ever find her Mr. Right. Or will she continue to be unlucky in love? The Fighter gave me the answer.

I don't want to say too much, incase I give any spoilers. But I will say this, you have to read this series. Full of emotions, shock twists and a search to find love. Pepper's journey is definitely worth reading.
