She was off-limits. A witness. A victim. And achingly beautiful.

With a shiny new badge clipped to Special Agent Nick Clark’s belt, he thought he could save the world or at least protect those he loved.
A sadistic serial killer proved him wrong.
The only way to keep Meadow Holiday safe was to break the rules, keep her close, and claim her as his own.
He had no business falling in love in the middle of an investigation. But she's the one, he can feel it deep in his bones.

The sexy FBI agent was everything Meadow ever dreamed of having, but knew she'd never get. Nick's charm was irresistible, and the first time he kissed her, she’d stupidly fell in love. He promised her a fairytale where a strong and handsome hero saves the scared and scarred girl.

Just when Nick breaks down the fortress Meadow has built to protect herself and pushes through her doubts - it's too late.
The villain in their story has come for her.

Saving Meadow is a full-length romantic suspense novel.

ALL THE PRETTY GIRLS by Riley Edwards is an exceptional start to her Next Generation series of Romantic suspense books to follow her 707 Freedom series. This book is easily read as a standalone even though the characters from the previous series do pop up. It is not difficult to follow their relationship to Nick and it does not confuse the reader, but makes you want to go back and read that series, also.

Meadow Holiday cannot hide the scar on her face after a vicious attack that has turned her into a solitary person who hides from life. She believes she is no longer desirable. Since her attack, she has kept only one friend at work and one friend on-line in a survivors chat room. Her boss daily ridicules and belittles her for her appearance, so Veronica Venus, in the chat room, has become her outlet to let off steam and go-to for solace.

Special Agent Nick Clark works in the Behavior Analysis Unit of the FBI. He has a knack for seeing things outside of the box even though he is the youngest member of the team. After a break of four years, a serial killer profiled by Nick’s unit is back and killing again. The victims are all beautiful young women found in alleys with their faces mutilated.

Meadow is terrified when she learns the killer is active again. Nick is surprised the beautiful redhead he has been intrigued by at his coffee shop is the original victim who survived her attack all those years ago. Nick knows he will have a battle ahead convincing Meadow she is still beautiful inside and out and that he is not interested in her only to catch the killer. The killer has other plans for Meadow.

Nick and Meadow are such great characters. Nick is all around swoon worthy and he trains service dogs for vets. Love him! Meadow starts out with such low self-esteem, but the author brings her around with Nick’s belief in her and his love. The romance is believable and the sex scenes are hot. This is a page turner, even though I easily figured out the suspense plot. The characters are so vivid, you cannot help but cheer them on to their HEA. I cannot wait for more books in this series!

Good FBI storyline!

I really liked this audiobook. The dual narration by Troy Duran and Devon Grace was top notch. I enjoy both their voices quite a bit and they matched the two main characters, Nick and Meadow perfectly. This book had a lot of action and romance. Nick was a fairly new FBI agent who got a job with the BAU (like on Criminal Minds). His first case was a series of murders where once beautiful women were stabbed once in the stomach and many times in the face. The serial killer stopped for years and then started up again, and Nick found that Meadows, a woman he recognized from the local coffee shop, was the first victim of the killer and she had survived.

I really liked the storyline about the murders and the fact that Meadows didn’t remember much about her attack. Though I wish Meadow would have been a stronger character. She basically lived in fear after her attack and hid herself away because of the scar on her face. Though it seemed to me that the scar wasn’t that bad. It went from her ear, down along her jawline, so it definitely could have been much worse.

Overall, I really liked this book, though it was definitely more story than steamy, more romantic than most that I read. There were no explicit sex scenes, which was fine by me, as I wasn’t in the mood for that kind of book.

He’s FBI. She’s a victim of a violent crime. They’ve seen each other at the same coffee shop for years, but they don’t officially meet until her cold case becomes involved with the case he’s currently working.

Nick, the MMC, is perfectly written. He is cute, sexy, and always says the right thing. Meadow is a tad bit naive, but her trauma has closed her off so much that she remains a character you root for to heal and progress, which she does under Nick’s sweet and patient hands. The romance here was just really sweet and enjoyable. No long angsts or doubts because both characters spit out what needed to be said when it needed to be said. Loved that! There are some lines in here that sweet romance lovers will SWOON hard over.

The suspense element wasn’t so great. It’s rather obvious from very early who the villain is to the READER… I’m assuming that may have been intentional by the author? Not sure, but I’d have preferred to have actually had a mystery within the story. The characters should’ve caught on, and it’s quite unbelievable that they didn’t. The climax of Meadow and the villain… ehh, poorly written. An idiot could’ve comprehended what transpired without Nick having to tell Meadow <<< Felt like word count boosting.

The dog and the uncles were a cute addition to the story.

While some of Meadow’s self-doubt was repetitive… it’s justified. Otherwise, author has a clean writing style that moves along through the story without a lot of boring shit.

HEA within a series that will follow the MMCs extended family.

3 really good stars from me for lovable romance.

Recommend for sweet romance lovers not concerned with the suspense part.

Nicholas Clark is the son of Nolan and Reagan, who we meet in the 707 series. Nick is the first of the next generation and I can’t wait to read about the kids and their lives!

Nick becomes a FBI Special Agent and immediately goes to work for their BAU department. His very first case is a serial killer killing women and mutilating their faces. The case goes cold and a few years later the killer comes back.

Meadow Holiday is a victim of a brutal attack. Her face is scared and she is left unable to have a child. Since the attack, Meadow is scared and unsure of herself as a woman.

I love that Nick is a strong, yet understanding and caring man. I loved that he helped Meadow see her true worth and that she is not only beautiful on the outside despite the scar, but beautiful inside. The transformation of Meadow into becoming a stronger person.

I loved Nick and Meadow’s story because it was beautiful and well written. I can’t wait for the other books of the series!

I absolutely loved this story. Swoony romance, suspense, danger and some great characters to love and hate!

“…the scar on your face doesn’t do a goddamn thing to take away from how beautiful you are.”

I got this book on kindle and audiobook and went back and forth between reading and listening. It was a perfect experience... Really good narration that only added to my enjoyment.

“You are brave and sweet, and so damn pretty. You’re breaking my heart standing there hunched over.”

Saving Meadow is my first book by this author and I can’t wait to read and listen to more.

3.5 🌟.

A bit predictable but entertaining. Loved the writing style and characters were good but I could predict the killer from the beginning. I think too many clues. I also hated the way heroine Meadow reacted in last part. So unnecessary and many times used trick.

Safe, recommended and included in KU.

Great suspense

There is a killer on the loose killing women on a certain day of the month Meadow was the first victim but having survived the attack due to the killer being interrupted.

Nick first noticed Meadow in the coffee shop where they both frequented. He had an attraction to her for years but she was closed how with the past and unapproachable.

Once Nick became aware Meadow was a victim in the case he was working, he was able to get to know her and talk with her letting his interest be known.

I liked the development of their relationship. It was slow until she was fully ready. They let their feelings develop and him help her with her self esteem from the scar running down her face.

I will say it was a little predictable who the killer was. There was a twist i didn't see coming towards the end.

Still a great read and i can't wait to dive into Ethan's book.

I loved Nick character and it amazes me how much he helped Meadow. I will say that although Meadow was a strong character Nick did aid her through her journey of finding herself to be worthy of someone to love her.

Also the killer was very obvious.

I read maybe two thrillers last year, none this year. I’m not a big thriller reader, so when I read a book with a twist and I figure it out waaaay before half way through the book, I’m more than a little disappointed.

This feels like something that I’d read when I was in high school, and I’ve since grown out of it. I thought the heroine’s insecurity was annoying. I understood why she felt that way but I guess I was hoping she’d hit that character arc a little sooner.

Meadow Holiday was the first victim of a vicious serial killer who destroy’s beautiful females faces while they kill. Meadow came away with a six inch scar and the inability to have children. She doesn’t remember important details about her attack, only focusing on the pain.

Nick has always wanted to do the work he does; he profiles killers for the FBI. Nick started his job around the same time the serial killer started killing. He’s worked on the case trying to catch them while witnessing the brutal attacks on women. But then one day the killer stops.

Four years pass. When the killer starts up again Nick is there to work the case. Going back to question Meadow, Nick is surprised to realize that he’s almost met Meadow before while at his favorite coffee shop, before her attack. He always thought her beautiful.

Meadow has become standoffish since her attack. It’s taken her self confidence and turned her into a shy, unsure, insecure woman that hides in the background. Her mental dialogue isn’t helped by her cunt of a boss, Beth. Beth loves to bring Meadow down and is relentless in her verbal attacks.

Meadow has had a crush on Nick since the first time she saw him at her favorite coffee shop. She almost talked to him, before she had her scar from her attack. But after she doesn’t have the confidence to make a move. Meadow is convinced she is a “filler” woman that a man spends time with on his way to finding the right woman to marry. Nick is pissed about it, and slowly changes Meadows way of thinking and convinces her that he’s not only attracted to her but he also wants a future with her by his side.

I guessed the killer, I saw the twist from a mile away. I thought the dramatics elementary. I found Meadow pitiful. I’m not sure I read the same book everyone else did. I guess this just wasn’t for me.

Finally a book for the Pick Me girls!

Seriously, the intended audience for this book is the Pick Me gurlies.

You'll understand what i mean if you read this trash.

Misogyny points galore.
Especially referring to women as bitches... and women everywhere seeing each other as competition over men...

This even has a female serial killer who kills women who are "prettier" than her and remind her why men will like them better than her...

Okay then...

This author based fmc and mmc's entire chemistry and romance around the fact that she is still PICKED by the mmc despite her ugly scar and infertility... and tried to make it "deep" but of course, it didn't work.

Obviously, there's zero substance to their romance and it's boderline offensive lol ...

Anyway.

A pick-me gurl got picked!

How exciting and fulfilling!

Saving Meadow started out strong for me but then turned predictable. I also felt the relationship development needed something more. It was an ok read and I’d like to check out others in this author’s backlist because I did enjoy the overall writing style. The story is told in first person, dual POV except for third person for the prologue and epilogue. Neither were virgins, but it had been a year for the H and several years for the h. No ow/om drama.

(audiobook) Having read the author before, I had an idea of what to expect, but I was still surprised. In a good way, because I enjoy a good detective story with a crazy serial killer. But it isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, so be prepared for disturbing content.

As the name of the series suggests, it’s a sequel series, but there’s no need to read the previous series to understand this one. Major events are explained enough to get a feel of those side characters and their stories, and don’t distract from the current plot.

Nick is a FBI agent investigating a gruesome murder that reminds him of a past case that was never closed. By re-opening the case, he discovers that there may have been a survivor, the killer’s first victim, and she might be the key to find the murderer. The victim, Meadow, was left disfigured by the attack.

For a FBI crack team, Nick’s team missed a lot of things during the first investigation, if they’re now able to find lots of new information. While necessary to the plot, this bothered me a bit. The author covers it by insisting Nick was a new agent, but he wasn’t alone in the team. But whatever. Also, even though it was needed to develop the love story, the coincidence of Nick and Meadow knowing each other was a bit too much.

What was nice though, was the fact that Nick was attracted to Meadow despite her scars. Of course, he knew her without them, and thought she was beautiful already. Still it encouraged him to have positive things to say about them. That Meadow needed a man’s validation to feel better was a bit annoying too. Since the victims’ beauty is the motive for the murders, it’s understandable that physical attributes are at the center of the story and a plot device though. The whole message is positive, so I didn’t mind.

The murder plot itself was quite good. The author slips little hints that keep the reader guessing who the culprit is. Though the revelation isn’t a major twist, the mystery is kept for a long time. Since it isn’t a long book, it doesn’t hold for too long either. The story is paced well, with quieter moments–usually about Meadow and Nick’s relationship–and some investigation, with a slight acceleration toward the end.

The narration was mostly good. Both narrators did their character well, not so much the other’s character. It felt like they weren’t voicing the same character sometimes. The female narrator was good for Meadow’s quiet demeanor, while the male narrator’s deep voice was perfect for Nick. Still a short, fast, gripping listen.

Quickie

- Series: The new generation #1 (can be read as a standalone, but linked to other series by the author)
- Hashtags: #romantic thriller #romantic suspense #law enforcer #victim #serial killer #scars
- Triggers: gruesome depictions of murders, verbal abuse
- Main couple: Meadow Holiday & Nicholas Clark
- Hotness: 4/5
- Romance: 4/5
- + all the positive vibes around Meadow’s scars
- – either I’m smarter than those smart men, or it could have been written a bit better, but I had guessed the culprit really fast

Wow to OMG Triple Wow

Here I go I don't write to many reviews main reason I hated book reviews I had to write in school always got a D or D- So Riley don't grade me. Nick, Meadows and Sally's story was believable the FBI office and the present case problems with the case and personal problems, the attack on Meadows 5 years ago. Nicks training of Sally a service dog for a Wounded Warrior a subject dear to my heart I am also a Life Member of the DAV. Then I got to page 155 through 162 on my EBook and started as a Wow and ended on 162 with a Triple OMG Wow can you imagine the trouble a mobile phone would have gotten me in till up in till this point I probably would have given this 4 Stars but those 7 pages made this story a 5 star hit. If you love Suspense, great characters, a page turner a Service Dog this the book for you. Riley thank you for this wonderful story

Genre: Romance - Suspense, FBI
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: Yes Book 1 of The Next Generation series. A spin off of The 707 Freedom Series. You don't need to read the 707 books first but if you do then seeing the families growing up is awesome.
POV: Nick and Meadow
Steam Level: Slow burn to sexiness
4.5/5

This is the third book I've read by Riley Edwards and I really enjoy her writing style. All the Pretty Girls had a ton of suspense, action, and humor. I figured out who did it pretty quick but it was fun watching the investigation unfold. All the Pretty Girls sucked me in from the start, reading nearly a third of it in one sitting. If you like romantic suspense with strong male characters and dogs then pick up All the Pretty Girls and enjoy the ride.

After reading the 707 Series - Next Generation follows the stories of all of the family's children. Saving Meadow is Nick Clark - Nolan and Reagan's nephew/adopted son and his foray into the FBI.

This book is a great love story filled with suspense that will keep you guessing. Nick falls for the beautiful Meadow Holiday, whom he has been semi-stalking since his days in the academy and later finds out that she may be a survivor of a serial killer that the FBI is trying to help catch.

Loved this book and can't wait to see what's next for the brood from the 707 gang.

My first book by this author.

Meadow is an assault victim survivor. She lives her life in the shadows, afraid to be noticed. Nick is an FBI agent tracking a serial killer. Turns out Meadow was the first victim.

While I figured out some of the clues pretty early on, the story did keep me intrigued. I liked the characters, appreciated how Nick helped Meadow come back to the light. I realize this is the second generation and the family coming to help at the end confused me a bit.
It was a solid start for me, will read the next book in the series.

Oh wow! Where do I start. I read All the pretty girls in one sitting as I couldn’t put the book down. I was so absorbed into Nick and Meadow’s story that I didn’t want to let go when I reach the end. This book had me guessing who and why. And I was definitely surprise with the twist and couldn’t believe it. Absolutely loved every moment of this book and I highly recommend reading this book.

It was great to see Nick as a grown up in this one. I liked that he took what he learned from his uncles and made it his own right from the start with his job in the FBI. I also found it interesting that he and Meadow had seen each other for years at the coffee shop, sort of made them seeing each other again not as bad of a think for Meadow then.

I really felt for Meadow and what she went through. I liked that both she and Nick were smitten with each other and that Nick didn't hesitate to make a move on her and that Meadow didn't hid away like she really wanted to.

As Nick worked his case it was interesting to see what if any info Meadow could provide from her own incident. But more telling was the info she gave Nick on how different things are her work worked, that really made some things click for him.

When the bad guy finally was revealed it was pretty bad. I had guessed who it was pretty early on, but when someone is evil they show themselves. I hated what Meadow went through at the end, was glad that Nick and his crew got there quickly and that Nick had the support of his uncles when he started to freak out.

The ending to this one was perfect, loved that Nick and Meadow were still living their lives happy, but moving back home to be near Nick's family.

2.5⭐️ I knew who the killer was the second she was introduced.. Kind of killed the mystery part for me. I just wanted them to reveal it because it felt SO OBVIOUS.

Their romance is pretty cute. I love that they had their eyes on each other before the case brought them together.

And Sally… I want a golden retriever so bad. Her bond with Meadow is the sweetest thing ever.

A simple story

The story between Nick and Meadow is sweet - except for the serial killer. It wasn’t a deep book by any stretch of the imagination but I don’t think that was the author’s intent. It was what I needed today but I don’t think I will read the second book. 🔥🔥/5

This book is the first in the Next Generation series. It's a spinoff from Riley Edwards, Black Ops series. Don't worry if you haven't read that series this can be read as a standalone. But if like me you're a fan of that series. You will know that we meet Nick as a child in the final book getting a brief glimpse of him as an adult. I was so happy to know that Nick would be getting his own book.

Nick Clark is an FBI special agent he's transferred into the BAU (Behavioural Analysis Unit) The team is on a case investigating a serial killer that is targeting women. Four years on and the Killings have started up again. They are looking for new leads or something they have missed to catch this killer.

Meadow Holiday is living her life in the shadows. After suffering an horrific attack years ago, left her physically scarred for life. She became a loner and kept people at a distance. Having only an online friendship with Veronica Mars, who she met through a survivors chat room. And a local coffee shop barista, Beckie to get her through the tough times. The coffee shop also has a perk and that comes in the form of Nick. She's never spoken to and only knows his name from it being called out for his order. She would before her attack tried to speak to him. But her feeling are... why would she even try when her face looks as it does.

Little does Meadow know but her and Nick's lives are about to cross. In a way neither of them saw coming.

All The Pretty Girls was an intriguing romance thriller. That gripped me from the first pages. Nick definitely lived up to his uncles in the Alpha oh my! I loved his care and devotion not only to Meadow but to all things he cares about. I liked that their relationship wasn't just straight to love because of storyline. A trust and friendship needed to be built up which gave this a more realistic feel to it. If your a fan of mystery and suspense with a great romance you'll love this. I can't wait for more in this series and i loved the little snippet we got of the men from the Black Ops series. If you haven't read that series i can highly recommend along with this one!!

I'm going to start out by saying that although I'm already a HUGE fan of the brilliant Riley Edwards, she definitely brought new levels of A-game to the table with her newest piece of exciting goodness, and frankly, I couldn't get enough of it, to the point that I devoured it in less than a couple of hours, then wanted more immediately. I won't bore you with any details, (yeah I'm being super sarcastic), but seriously here's all I'm willing to give since it's a romantic suspense. Meadow is a survivor of a brutal attack. Special Agent Nick Clark from the FBI is assigned to a case that may or may not involve Meadow. And I wanna say that I feel bad for not giving more, but nope #sorrynotsorry, because going in blind is best. Nick & Meadow are special together, as their chemistry is insane in between the case, which is ramping up. And there's a great entertaining cast of secondaries, especially a 4 legged one named Sally, who added more depth & a lot of humor to the mix. (Plus some very suspicious characters as well.) Twists were around every corner, and even if you're able to guess "who dun it," they are still f-bomb dropping worthy, and drop them I did. This heart racing, edge of my seat story was amazing, and I couldn't get enough! I CANNOT WAIT for more in this new series, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Meadow is the one that got away…not from her lover but from a serial kiIIer. Nick (from Freedom) grew up to be an FBI agent that is hunting for a kiIIer. When he finally puts together that Meadow was number 1 and got away, he interviews her. What neither realizes at first is that they know each other and have both been ensnared by the other from their local coffee shop. My favorite part of this story was watching Meadow coming back into herself, changing up her wardrobe, wearing her hair up, branching out of her safe little world to start living again, despite the scar on her face. This book is more twisty and definitely more suspenseful that the original 707 series was. Riley Edwards brings all the heat that we have seen in previous series but this time, does an excellent job weaving little details into the storyline that will keep readers engaged and guessing to the very end! Saving Meadow is a great start to this spin-off from the 707 series and I can’t wait to see the rest of the kids all grown up and falling in love themselves!

This is was my second time through the story and first time in audio. Devon Grace and Troy Duran do an excellent job bringing this story to life. I enjoy the variety of voices that they both work with. Happy they did the whole series so I can hear more of their work.

Next Generation Series Will Not Disappoint!!

Saving Meadow is a romantic thriller that perfectly showcases Riley Edwards's signature writing style that effortlessly incorporates motivation, aesthetics, and dramatic action in one story.

If you’re a Riley E fan, you’ll immediately recognize her relatable characters and while it was super fun to visit with the characters we met during the 707 series, you don’t have to read the prior series (but you should, no, really!) before diving into this one.

Our leading characters, Nick and Meadow, have observed each other from afar for several years at their local coffee shop (swoon #1). Neither realizes that the other has noticed the other (swoon #2), and a series of tragic events bring them together in a tangled web of passion and purpose that will leave you melting (yep, swoon #3). Ok, I’ll stop counting swoons!!!

Meadow is a victim of a vicious attack where, as the fates would have it, she is left broken and afraid but very much alive and fighting for her own peace.

Enter hawt FBI agent Nick Clark who instantly recognizes Meadow. He desperately needs her to tell her truth to help him solve the case while looking for ways to get closer to Meadow and protect her with a determination no one can stop, including Meadow.
Packed with an abundance of heart-stopping angst, this Next Generation Series kicks off with a bang, leaving you firmly on the edge of your seat, looking for something to hold to steady the ride.

I read and listened to this book to gain all perspectives, and you will not be disappointed, regardless of your chosen book medium. Troy Duran and Devon Grace have 🔥 chemistry fitting of the love and palpable connection that burns between Nick and Meadow and create a stunning audio performance.

I want to go on and on about this gentle yet fiery, gripping yet freeing love story that made for THE perfect listen on a cozy fall weekend, but I won’t spoil it.
Gift yourself and add this one to your reading or listening list, and get lost in this deep and heartfelt continuation of the 707 series. Meadow and Nick are “bone-deep” love and fire!

Kudos to Riley Edwards for writing a story about what it means to be perfectly imperfect!

Okay. So I gave this 3 stars because it was a bit of a letdown. I started my Riley Edwards journey with the first one in the Triple Canopy series. I’m weird and don’t like to read out of order, so I went back to what I thought to be the series before triple canopy. I like Edwards. I’m reading Chasing Honor right now. I like that she doesn’t do the slow burn route. That being said, the speed in which things develop is a bit too fast. I love these Alphas that she’s created. Also am I the only one who noticed the ‘Criminal Minds’ nod. Nick working in the BAU division of the FBI. Edwards literally followed the plot of Criminal Minds, like how they were only assisting local law enforcement. And I doubt it was on purpose, but Nicks team members had names similar to the real names of Criminal Minds cast members. The suspense part was entertaining. Overall I did like the book and will keep reading Riley Edwards.

First book I've read by this author. Loved it! Great romantic suspense. Can't wait to read more.
