My plan was as simple as they come… in theory.

Show up at the Cerberus clubhouse and give dear old Dad a piece of my mind.

What I didn’t expect was being welcomed by the open arms of a father who had no idea I existed.

More importantly, I didn’t anticipate HER.

Delilah Donovan was a breath of fresh air. She would soon become my reason for wanting to become a better man, my reason for getting out of bed with a smile on my normally sneering face.

But no matter how much I changed, she’d always be too good for a man like me.

It was over before it could even begin.

I know I said I was finished after Snatch, but my damn obsessive brain refused to let me quit it. Lawson is technically the 6th book in the Cerberus MC series, BUT we’ve moved onto the kids. (Snatch’s epilogue FFW us 15 years so now all the kids are all grown) Lawson showed up in that epilogue as Snatch/Jaxon’s long-lost kid. I guess Darby was preggers when she took off. Delilah is Itchy/Snatch or Rob/Jaxon’s adopted daughter.

The book is split into two parts… the first 50% takes place when Lawson arrives an angry 18-year-old with a giant chip on his shoulder. He and Delilah (16) share a connection/attraction that ends when he leaves to follow his younger bro Drew to Massachusetts, which ends up being Providence, RI. (??) The last ½ picks up 2 years later with Delilah and Ivy (Kincaid/Em’s daughter) at college.

I had some issues. First, I was confused when Massachusetts switches to Providence, and how in the 2 year skip she went from 16 to already attending a year of college. (I did skim some and could've missed something) BUT, my real issue was the “feel” of the book. We are now dealing with teenagers (18-20) and while Lawson seems mature, Delilah does not. For example, The fact that she still acts petty/hateful after his explanation (even though she loves him) felt immature. Not that she needs to forgive him straightaway, but her actions/reactions were childish.

Lawson is like perfect YA/NA #boyfriend goals. He’s a dirty talker, but totally dedicated to Delilah. Delilah is ok, the first half she’s super sweet. She’s a totally different gal the last half. She’s more confident, but also WAY less mature.

Bottom Line- I found the first half of the book slow and mildly boring. It picked up after the FFW, but still had that immature/green/cheesy NA feel to it, which isn’t really my jam. The h specifically acts bratty, but during sexytime she’s super mature… it just didn’t work. There’s also not really anything going on. They’re away from the NM folks, so there’s no MC /mission stuff. The only part that even hinted at action/danger, just disappeared. IMO, these are even lighter than the parent’s books, so if you’re looking for an edgy MC read… this isn’t it.*H celibate during separation; h had 3 drunken ONS. It was nice to have a sexy H in his sexual prime keep in his pants on waiting for her. I didn’t mind that she didn’t wait, but she was very impulsive/risky with her dalliances. No OW/OM.

“The three guys I slept with this summer, I met at college parties.” He stiffens, squeezing my hand a little too tight at my admission.

“I hate hearing about it, but I understand that you need to get it off of your chest.” He kisses the soft skin on my wrist. “Put it out there, baby so we can work through it.”

Shame weighs heavy on my shoulders. “I don’t even know their names. I was drunk every time. Not that I’m using that as an excuse, but I had to have the alcohol to go through with it.” “Baby.”

“Do you hate me for the women that came before you?” “I hate that there were others,” I confess. “But do you hate me?” I look into his red-rimmed blue eyes and shake my head. “I never hated you.” “Then understand that I feel exactly the same way.”

This is how a second generation story is done!

After the ending of Snatch, I couldn't wait for this book and it did not disappoint.

Lawson shows up on Jax and Rob's doorstep with his 13 year old brother. Their mom has passed away, but before she died she finally told Lawson about his dad. With a huge chip on his shoulder, the open arm welcome is not what he is expecting and not something he trusts. Then he spots a reason to maybe stick around - Delilah. Life is suddenly looking up for the boys when a twist is thrown in. I wasn't expecting that and I actually loved the way it moved the story forward. I loved both of these characters and the supporting ones too! Life is not always easy, but the choices you make can stay with you a long time and words can hurt. This is the life lesson that Lawson learns during this story, but so does Delilah.

And Marie does it again - that freaking ending will leave you starving for the next book!!

I really enjoyed the beginning and the family aspects. I just wasn't expecting that there was going to be a next time jump. However, it made sense, especially knowing how spicy it gets.

Both characters annoy me. The mmc annoyed me before the time jumped, and the fmc annoyed me after the time jumped. However, knowing that their father's are snatch and itchy made it so good.

I got a little sneak peek with the other children dynamic with their parents and each other. And i'm a little nervous to continue reading this series.

Wow. While i'm no stranger to Marie James' books or her Cerberus series, Lawson was my first read from it. Nothing like i thought it would be, Lawson definitely gave me butterflies in my belly, reminding me that first loves are like and how they can affect you - whether in a good or bad way.

4.5 sexy dreams

Lawson has a dirty mouth! I never would have thought that from him and Delilah is more than able to dish it out as much as he can imagine new sayings! Knowing half of the things that i do know about the original Cerberus cast, i honestly can't wait to get my hands on that series while we find out about the next generation. For a new series, i really want to find out more about these kids that made me fall in love with them in one book! One thing is for certain, i'll be following this series very closely from now on!

It's no secret that I love every single book written by this amazing girl and the more I get to read, the more I want to read.
And putting that love with my obsession with MC books I know that I strike gold.
Marie James has a intense, beautiful and raw writing that will hook you up from the first page and you will not be able to look back or stop. You will be consume by the plot and will only want to keep reading and reading.
Lawson is her latest release and tells the stories of Lawson and Delilah
But let me give you an advise. Despite all books are standalones, and this one included, I totally advise you to read Cerberus series first. Get into all books, by order and get ready for the ride of your life. Trust me, once you know this guy's you will want more and more.... I know I do...
I was waiting for this book for so long that I can't possibly describe how I felt.
How would you feel if what you ever believed wasn't the complete truth? What would you do if the monster you want to portray doesn't exist?
I don't want to talk to much about this book because I don't want to spoil.
Let's just say that these characters have so much in common that things can look forbidden.
The plot is superb, full on meaning and very well written. The interation between the characters is intense, raw and beautiful and will make you dream.
Ahem... Don't worry because we will have some pretty and steamy scenes in there too.
This book will gift you love, friendship, family as well as lies, sadness and heartache.
I'm in love with this series and I want more.
Seriously Marie... Why did you end it like that? What are you doing? Wherever it is I want it so bad because I'm sensing some troubles...

I was really sad when the Cerberus MC series ended, but I was so excited that it was getting a spin-off. When I found out that Lawson started the second generation, I was elated! I could not get enough of the Cerberus men and now we get their children!!!! Lawson was everything that I had hoped for in a spin-off book. We had just the right amount of angst, happiness, sexiness and every other emotion under the son. I loved learning more about the children of the men, and the dad in this book was one of my favorite men! The character development was also amazing. Marie is so good at developing everyone just enough to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Lawson was a character who everyone could feel something for. I say that vaguely, because there were so many ways we felt for him throughout this book, a full rainbow of emotions toward him. The same goes for Delilah. There were times were I was so happy about their character and times where I wanted to punch their characters. BUT We had so much growth and change from each of them, and in their own ways. I loved that so much about these two; we had to work to get more of out of them, just like they had to work to get more out of each other. I loved these two more than air during this book and I can't wait to see who Marie decides to write about next

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, anger, sadness, secrets, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Kincaid (Cerberus MC, #1)
SINdicate
Kid (Cerberus MC, #2)
Shadow (Cerberus MC #3)
Dominic (Cerberus MC #4)
Snatch (Cerberus MC #5)

This is Delilah and Lawson’s story. Lawson is angry and all around moody man because of what he believes. When he shows up to see his father he thinks he is going to get answers and walk away from the man who never wanted him. But what he does not know is his father never knew about him and very openly welcomes him into the family and the MC. But Lawson is angry over his past and how he lived. He decides to go off with his brother. When he meets Delilah, he resents her and takes out his anger on her. After no seeing each other for years they meet up again. He knows he is not good enough for her but he knows he wants her no matter what. Can he prove to her that he is a changed man? Or will she not want him because of the past?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

Title: Lawson
Author: Marie James
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Rating: 5/5

Holy fudgeballs what a start to the 2nd generation of the Cerberus MC family, when I finished Snatch my first thought was wowzer (censored version) what a way to finish then it was excitement overload thinking about what was to come and trust me Lawson didn’t disappoint.

When Lawson turned up at the Cerberus clubhouse it’s fair to say he had a chip on his shoulder after all he was going to see his father for the first time in his life, a father who never knew he existed, a father who alongside a whole host of others welcomed him with open arms and he certainly didn’t expect to find Delilah a beautiful young woman who’d soon become his reason for living. Of course it’s not all plain sailing Lawson has to conquer his own issues in order to become the man he feels he needs to be especially when it comes to claiming Delilah his woman, he may have taken his time in claiming her but there’s no doubt about it she’s his.

Marie has done it again, another five star read and as always it was a pleasure ‘till next time Ms James.

Absorbing and poignant love story.....

I have been so excited about this spin off series but also slightly nervous...could this series, about the next generation , live up to it’s addictive predecessor ...of course there was no requirement for angst..this is a fast moving, thrilling romance that held me enthralled throughout...

This author knows how to build believable worlds with characters that are not only realistic but also have great depth....Delilah and Lawson are the focus of this particular story they seem to be perfectly matched but Lawson is a complicated character and their chance at a happy ever after seems unobtainable and untenable ....the main characters experience a tortuous journey of hurt, loss, anger, joy and love...fortunately they are surrounded and supported by a wonderful MC band of brothers and sisters, who add layer upon layer of light and dark to the plot...

I loved this gripping book, an absorbing and poignant love story....the next instalment cannot come speedily enough...I received an ARC from the author.

Marie James did a great job on this story. The book was well written. I couldn't put it down. The book was filled with different emotions. It kept me on the edge of my seat. Lawson and Delilah are both great strong characters. Lawson has been through a lot in his life. Lawson comes to the club to find his father. He didn't expect to meet Delilah. The connection between them is strong. Lawson and Delilah are perfect together. The chemistry is off the charts. But Lawson makes a decision that breaks Delilah's heart. Years later they run into each other but can Delilah forgive him? I recommend reading to find out what happens. This is a great story. I really enjoyed it. Loved getting caught up with the other characters. Thank you, Marie James. Great work :) 5 Stars. Great book. Love this generation as much as the original :)

Not sure yet?

I’m very torn about this turn of events. I’ve loved the Cerberus MC stories, but I’m not sure i liked the time jump in this one, or the push of younger characters. I also missed our original ones and the wives. Maybe my age is showing, but I had a hard time getting feels for people who were born in the last book much less picturing them talking dirty and having sex. I’ll continue reading to see what the characters are doing, but I miss the originals. I did enjoy the progression of Rob and Jaxon’s relationship I just feel we missed a lot of in between from one page to the other. I literally yelled “what!!!” when I saw 15 years later and it stuck with me as we saw the development of Delilah and Lawson. Delilah was also a character I hated the development of. She started out strong and lost herself along the way.

I was drawn into the story from the beginning.

Lawson and Delilah made the next generation so appealing. The glimpse into the past was a great reminder of what shaped their futures.

I am excited to see what the rest of the kids are up to now that they are grown.

I wish the GR ratings were a little different, because this book was "OK" meaning it's not great, but it's not terrible, so in my mind that should be a 3 star or middle of the road rating. But on GR, 3 stars means "I liked it" and since I didn't really like this all that much, I am giving it the OK 2 star rating.

Ok, enough rambling about rating curves, here's what didn't work for me:

- Hero and heroine are VERY YOUNG. I can't really find an 18 year old boy with a chip on his shoulder a worthy hero. The heroine is only 16 at the start of the book and she seems very polly-annish, naive and sheltered considering she's raised by 2 dads who are in an MC. I know this isn't the typical MC and they're actually more like a rescue mission MC (WTF) but still, they do live a pretty wild life. Case in point, Snatch and Itchy and how they loved their group sex with anything that moved.

- H/h only know each other for a few weeks and I didn't really feel this intense, burning, yearning chemistry between them. They seemed very much like 2 typical kids who were attracted to each other but certainly nothing that would break their hearts and change the course of their lives. And pine after one another for 2 years...although they each showed it differently.

- I didn't like the heroine's new persona when she met back up with the hero. She was like a whole new character who was nothing like her original self. Our hero has been celibate for 2 years (YAY!!!) but the heroine has recently had 3 meaningless one-night-stands (I have NO problem with this and am glad the tables were turned and the female got some action during a separation). My problem is that there heroine of course didn't enjoy any of her interludes and came home crying for the hero each time. When a man sleeps with others during a separation we're always told he had "needs" and it didn't matter to him or affect him in any way other than he needed an orgasm. So why was the heroine sobbing and hating herself over this? Just a little irksome for her to be SO affected when normally it's completely excused and expected if a man had done it.

Anyhoo, I wasn't feeling this, but I did enjoy seeing Scratch and Itchy (Jaxon and Rob) down the road being dads. Very surreal considering the lifestyle they had back in the day.

Exceptional read. Great storyline that is well written with it's ending of one story and the beginning of another story. Granted, I haven't read the previous story in the original Cerberus MC before beginning the next generation, however it didn't throw me off at all. I loved the story and did enjoy seeing where Rob and Jaxon were in their lives, as I had read their story. But it's the children's story that comes to the forefront as Jaxon meets the son he never knew he had and that son, Lawson, is greeted not only by his father, but his family as well. Rob and Jaxon now have a family with the twins that they adopted, a girl Dahlia and Samson. Lawson comes with his 15 year old brother Drew after their mother dies. Lawson has a lot of anger in him and believes that Jaxon left his mother and him and now has this whole other family. But things are not as they seem, as is the norm, and even though Lawson has is issues, it's Dahlia that catches his young eyes.

I loved Lawson and Drew's characters. They were dealt a bad hand in life, and Lawson does the best he can to take care of his younger brother. Yes he's made mistakes but he loves his brother. He's young, only 18, but he already knows he all man (even if mentally he is still a teenager and doesn't have all of the answers). I liked Dahlia in the beginning. She was sweet and saw through Lawson and knew he needed a friend and slowly she began to fall in love with him. Until he said the words that broke her heart and turned her against him. After they are reunited a few years later, she's changed and has continued to hold on to her anger at him and does everything she can to dish out the hurt to him as he did to her years ago. But the pull is too strong. At this point she started working on my nerves, but before the end of the book, I began to like her again. Then again, I had to keep reminding myself of her age and although she is mostly grown, she is still only 19 and has years to grow and mature and grow in wisdom.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next in the series, especially after that last paragraph! Great read, I highly recommend it!

Ahhhh, when Snatch ended, I was positive that Marie James would let us languish in WTH mode...but she did not disappoint with Lawson, the first book in Cerberus MC 2.0. As with life, our beautiful, hot MC men from Cerberus also grow up and have families of their own. However, never did we expect that Jaxon would suddenly come face to face with a child he never knew existed. Lawson has a chip on his shoulder but will do whatever it takes to make sure his little brother has a safer, better life than they'd been living.

He never saw Delilah coming. She did her best to stay away from the foul mouthed boy who suddenly appeared on their doorstep. There are some absolutely beautiful moments when all the characters come face to face with growing up and become adults. And as always....Marie drops a bomb at the end that leaves you salivating for the next book! Well done!

If you read Snatch, then you absolutely know why I couldn't wait for Lawson. If you haven't read Snatch yet, then you completely should (because it is THAT good) , but it isn't necessary to read it prior to reading Lawson.

I was reading a meh cowboy romance before starting this and was wondering if I was hitting a book slump because I kept starting and stopping different books. Then this showed up and I abandoned the cowboy romance and couldn't put this down. Then I read the last sentence.

What?! The last sentence alone would have me dying for the next book, but THEN I read the first chapter excerpt of Hound, and it sounds like it is going to be another winner. I can't wait!

I received an advance reader copy of Lawson that I have chosen to review.

I loved the original series. I don't feel the same about this new series featuring the kids. Lawson started really good. The beginning sucks you right in. I don't like how the author changed Delilah and turned her slutty. Delilahs character changed into Gigi basically. I don't like that almost all three of the female characters are sluts. It makes them almost all the same person. I was disappointed in this book. It could have been so much better. The story had great potential. I wish the father/son relationship was explored more. It was touched on in the beginning of the book then just dropped about half way in. I'm thankful I have Ivy that isn't a slut. I can't wait for her story. I will continue to read the series in hopes it gets better.

description
The new book by Marie James, that just so happens to be the next generation of the Cerberus MC, was such a great kick off to a new series. It allowed me to revisit with characters and couples I grew to love in the 1st generation and let's me meet all new people to love.

In this story we have Lawson and Delilah. The long lost son that one of my favorite Cerberus couples knew nothing about, and the adoptive daughter he can't keep off his mind.

I enjoyed the building of the relationship between these two main characters. Lawson had a lot of anger, loss, and confusion he was dealing with. And Delilah was a shy girl who was completely unprepared for a guy like Lawson. Things were often tense and uncomfortable because of the situation they all found themselves in. But through it all I enjoyed everything that was developing through the first half of the book. Then the second half of the book reminded me of all the things I've come to look for and love from this author. The chemistry, the passion, the amazing compassion and dedication the leading men show when they're trying to secure their future with the person they love.

I think one of my favorite things about this story was all the potential. I have so much I am now looking forward to in the coming books. What will happen with Gigi, and Ivy, and Samson and Griffin?And that set up in the end??? Utter brilliance.

(5 stars)

This is part of a series, I know this says its book one, but it's book one of the spin off and for this to make any sense the previous books should be read. At the end of Snatch's story he gets a surprise, a bouncing baby boy, its just 18 years too late. Lawson was desperate when he showed up on his sperm donor's doorstep, he had his brother, Drew, to think about and they were hungry. Seeing that his father has a family and that they have more than Drew and Lawson ever had, makes Lawson hate Snatch even more. The only redeeming person here is Delilah, but she is under age and hands off. Delilah is a good girl, volunteering, already getting ready for college, and doesn't really notice guys; that is until Lawson walks in. She knows no good can come from this but no matter how hard she fights she just can't resist him. But when he leaves, and leaves her devastated, will she ever forgive him? Can the their two roads meet again when Lawson is the man he knows that Delilah deserves?

I was so excited about this book coming. We are getting a second gen series and this starts off HOT! Snatch is still my favorite of the series so far but this is still a 5 star read. I am so excited to see what's next for the kids of Cerberus.

~~~~~~~~~~Julie's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Lawson and his brother watch their mother die. He is determined to tell his dad off and when they arrive at the Cerberus Clubhouse, he finds more than he bargained for. The family he always needed, some truths about the past and a love that will never end. Delilah is it for him but when Drew’s family comes to get him, Dawson knows he has to go with him. He leaves Delilah behind and it’s the hardest things he has ever done. 2 years later and Dawson and Delilah are face to face again. They have both grown up but she is still very stubborn. He gives her time but then he makes the move he has been waiting forever for, to make her his.
The book was excellent. I loved the storyline and the sadness about Dawson.
A must read.
4.5 amazing stars! Another exciting page turner from Marie James!! I absolutely adored Delilah and Lawson right away. Lawson didn't have an easy life growing up and when he suffers a horrible loss he turns to family he didn't even know he had. And then he sees Delilah and he's a goner. Fast forward two years.....will he be able to earn her love and forgiveness? Will her past ruin everything? *Shivers* Can hardly wait to read more of this series!!
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this review voluntarily
So the other books in this series I had some issues with but this one has been the best yet. I liked the male character, it doesn't show his development, but he did progress as a character. I didn't necessarily feel as though the female did that much but I didn't like her. I think this author puts to much emphasis on sex though. Like how the characters feel about it and how important it is to them. But this book had less sex and more story than the one before it and I think that made it a better book.
Lawson is amazing. Not that I expected anything less than amazing from Marie. But this 2.0 series is gonna be so good. I can't wait fr the next book. Lawson and his little brother Drew lose their Mom and head to find Lawson's Dad. Cerberus Club house is where his mother told him he would find his Dad. Jaxson doesn't even blink an eye at giving both boys a place to stay and tells Lawson that when or if he leaves that Drew gets to stay. But Drew gets a call from his Aunt and decides he would like to be with his family. Even though Lawson could stay and would like to stay for Delilah he can't bring himself to not be in the same state as Drew. So they both go to Massachusetts. 2 Years later Lawson shows up when Delilah least expects it. She feels like she has changed and her feelings for Lawson aare long gone, until she lays on him after 2 years.
A great start to the next generation. This is Lawson Ana Delilah’s story. It will have you feeling all sorts of emotions and it sucks you in from the beginning with its twists and turns. The connection and chemistry between them is sizzling and hot. Looking forward to reading more. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
What can I truly say except this author loves to have me screaming ranting and even crying. This book is so well written that I crave the next book. I am surely going to be so sad when this series ends. Ms. James has a truly gifted way with words. It envelops you in and your sitting on the edge of your seat to the very end.
Loved Lawson and Delilah!
This series just keeps getting better! I really loved that Lawson loved Delilah so much that he was willing to wait for her, and then work to make her understand how much she meant to him. And that ending, wow!!! Definitely leaves one wondering what was going on!
After his mother informs him who his father is, on her deathbed,  Lawson arrives at Cerberus MC,  full of attitude and with a huge chip on his shoulder. He has no desire to form any sort of relationship with his dad, who has been absent his whole life. His only intention is to make sure his younger brother has a stable home before he takes off to do his own thing.
However, he finds himself falling for Delilah, his dad's adopted daughter, and can't help stirring things up by talking dirty to her and treating her badly. Before things can get serious between them, circumstances take Lawson and his brother Drew away from Cerberus MC.
Fast-forward two years and Lawson receives a call from his father asking him to come to Delilah's rescue. Initially, she wants nothing to do with him but even though she was hurt badly by his sudden departure and the way he treated her, Lawson is determined to win her over.
I really enjoyed this book, it was a great read and I loved how Lawson and Delilah's story  developed. There were plenty of hot and steamy scenes and amazing chemistry between the two of them.  I would have really liked to know more about how Lawson and Jaxon's relationship was mended over the two year absence, and how Samson (Delilah's twin brother) learned to accept Lawson, after initially despising him.
I'm looking forward to more books in this  series.
