I thought his brothers stories was complicated. Damn! Van has his brother’s beat. Van was happy his brothers found love and had families but he wanted that for himself. Van was ordered to pick up Lily from the airport. She has done ten years in the service. What she wasn’t expecting was this man picking her up. From the time they met things would never be the same. Van went to his brothers for advice about what he should do. His brothers never heard him talk about anyone before so they knew it was serious. Her family was throwing her a welcome home party. Her family made plans for her without telling her until the last minute. This story has so many twists and turns leaving you want more. I was so into this book! Amazing story. Van had to fight for her when her family didn’t listen. Past things that happen didn’t stop Van from protecting his family and Lily. He is fighting for his Happily Ever After

3.5 Stars***Van and Lily’s tale is filled with dramatic twists and turns, acts of violence, a forced marriage, and some very steamy hot passion. It takes quite a journey, with lots of ups and downs, to get to their HEA, but the ending’s almost too good to believe. The storyline and characters are appealing, and the dramatic elements add excitement to the story, which amplifies the entertainment factor. For me, it was an interesting and engaging read.

I absolutely love the Bailey Brothers!!
Van is the oldest brother and very protective of his family. He stepped up to take care of his two younger brothers and make sure they were provided for no matter what. So when he is called by Pearl for another easy job last thing he was expecting was the gorgeous Lily to turn his life upside down. But when his family is threatened he will stop at nothing to protect them even if it costs him his own life and happiness. 🖤🖤

i read this book as part of an arc program. Van Bailey was an enforcer for Pearl and her twin brother Joe. Van is the oldest of the Bailey brothers and is a lone wolf, he raised his brothers after their parents died and is starting to notice how lonely he is since they married and left his house. When Pearl asks Van to go to the airport to get her sister Lily, who was serving in the army, he agrees. When Lily gets off the plane, she sees Van and is instantly attracted to him. Van sees Lily and thinks she is the woman of his dreams. When Lily asks him to take her to get something to eat, they talk and get to know one another and their attraction grows. When Van takes Lily home, she kisses him, but he thinks Pearl will kill him if he is with Lily, so he tells her he can't see her. Only Van can't forget Lily and wants to see her. With help from his brothers, he manages to sneak away with Lily and they can't help themselves anymore. They begin a secret relationship and eventually plan to tell Pearl, only Pearl tells Lily she has to marry another mobster as part of a business deal. Lily tries to get out of the marriage, but Pearl threatens the life of Lily's friend. I loved this book. I loved Van and Lily together. I thought Van was a good man who had a hard life. He felt responsible for a lot of things that were not his fault and i think he thought he had to be alone because of it. Lily was a strong woman, but she was in a hard situation and couldn't allow anyone to be hurt. Well done.

It's always a pleasure reading when an author creates characters to which the reader forms a bond with. This series consists of three brothers who may work for the mafia yet have strong moral character and an even stronger family bond.
Van has managed to inspire me with his strength, character and bond for his family. We learn just how strong that bond is in this book and how far he went to help his brothers. But since his brothers found happiness in their books we knew that Van had to have an opportunity to find his happiness too. What I underestimated was the length the author would go to make this one so much more gripping. When Van sees Lily he understands what his brothers have and that she is the one. Lily wants nothing more than to find happiness and live a normal life. The cards are stacked against them and it was rough ride watching it play out. But in the end......the author pulled out twists and turns with outcomes I never could have guessed. In other words I LOVED this book from start to finish.
Great characters, lots of drama and action and a love that manages to conquer all.
A win win no matter how you play it out.
I highly recommend these books and hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Melissa Devenport .... you nailed it!!!! While I enjoyed Ace and Red’s stories, Van completely won over my heart. Here is a man who just wants what his brother;’s have ... love. Never in a million years did he think that the little (and unknown) sister of the Romano Twins would give him that opportunity. Lily turned his world upside down, without even trying.
This story had everything, intensity, drama, action, secrets, sizzling heat, wonderful characters and an addictive storyline that made it extremely hard to put down. Van was a man I just wanted to give a big hug to, he pulled my heartstrings with everything he’d been through, and with what he desired most from life. i liked Lily, although sometimes I found her not to be not as strong as she could have been, considering where she had spent the last ten years of her life.
All in all, it was another terrific read from Melissa. The best of the three and a wonderful finale to this series. Definitely a recommended read.

Van is broody, gorgeous, closed off and likes to keep to himself. Lilly is a petite, bombshell army nurse, who was born into a mafia family, but she hates it. This story is one that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat and make your heart palpitate, as you keep reading the book. Each page turn makes you feel like you are watching the scenes of a movie in a cinema. When I read Ace and Red, I thought they were captivating and entertaining, with epic drama, but Van’s story definitely hits a home run. I will urge you to immediately add the three books in the Bailey Boys Series to your must read list.

Oh my goodness !! Van and Lily’s story is so much more intense and thrilling than the other Bailey brothers. Not knocking their story because they were really good but this ones intense action was amazing. The characters were great although I was really disappointed in how weak Lily was, especially for being in the Army for 10 years. Violence ~ Romance ~ Suspense ~ Kidnapping ~ Arranged Marriage you name it. Van being a Bailey, contractor for the mafia and Lily the little sister in the mafia fall in love but love in the mafia isn’t simple especially when your own family is against it. Recommend reading

Van and Lily's story was fun reading. Filled with page turning action,drama, and suspense, as well as romance, I really liked these two as a couple. Lily's twin siblings not so much. The twists to their story, and other great characters will keep you turning pages to see how Van and Lily's HEA plays out. I can say it is a standalone as this is my first read by Melissa Devenport, and I look forward to reading more. **I would like to thank the author for gifting me "Protected by Van" and leave my honest opinion based on my reading.** 4.25 Stars!

Great book as always!!!
I love the Bailey brothers!!! Van never thought he would every find anyone that would love him after the death of his parents. He meets the baby sister that no one new about of the twin Ramono's. I didn't want to put the book down. Hate to see the series end.
I would love to read about the twins finally getting someone , especially Pearl.

Melissa's family might be by blood but their true "family" is the mob and she is just a pawn in their greed for growth. Will she and Van gamble everything for love, bound by their incredible heat, lust, chemistry and the want for a better life, they will take the ultimate chance.

Yes!! Another Bailey man bitten by the love bug...although Van certainly decided that dangerously playing with fire was totally worth getting scorched by the twins!! Definitely NOT your typical love story but why have an ordinary romance when you can have the dangers of the mafia on your tails??!! Biker boys need love too!! Loved it!!

This well-written storyline has chemistry, secrets, complexities, action, and great main characters who are defined, likable, strong and independent. They have power and intellect and must use these to remain together. I liked it. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
